These are two fun Jell-O Jiggler recipes that can be served at a child¡¯s birthday party or for any occasion when you want to see a smile on the little one¡¯s faces. It is very simple and takes very little preparation. I have made these at my daughter¡¯s birthday party and they were a big hit!
Jell-O Animal Jigglers
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 4 hours and 15 minutes
Serves: Makes about 2 dozen pieces
Ingredients
2-1/2 cups of boiling water
2 8-ounce packages of any flavor Jell-O gelatin. (Any flavor will do)
Preparation
Stir the gelatin into the boiling water. Stir about 3 minutes. Make sure the gelatin is completely dissolved. Once the gelatin is dissolve, pour into a 13x9 inch glass-baking dish.
Refrigerate at least 4 hours or until the gelatin is firm to the touch. If you have left a fingerprint on the gelatin after testing, it is not quite done.
Dip the pan in some warm water for about 10 seconds. Try not to leave in the water any longer or the Jell-O will begin to soften. Turn the pan upside down onto the counter top or cutting board.
Cut the jigglers with animal shaped cookie cutters. You may find these at any baking or craft store in your area. I found a bucket of different shapes at our local Toys R Us store.
Spray a cookie sheet (or Tupperware container) with cooking spray (lightly) and using a spatula, carefully place the animal jigglers onto the tray and immediately place into the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Rainbow Animal Jigglers
Prep Time: 1 hour
Total Time: 4 hours
Serves: 18
Ingredients
5 cups boiling water, divided
1/4 cup of condensed milk
4 8-ounce packages of Jell-O gelatin (2 different flavors)
Preparation
Stir 2 packages of 1 gelatin flavor into 2 ? cups of the boiling water until completely dissolved.
Stir ? cups of the above flavor in ? cup of the condensed milk. Do not add the condensed milk until you are sure gelatin is completely dissolved.
Pour 1 thin layer of the clear gelatin into a 13x9 glass-baking dish, and refrigerate for approximately 15 minutes. Let it set but not firm. Make sure that the gelatin is firm, so the colors do not bleed into each other.
Pour 1 thin layer of the creamy gelatin on top of the firmed clear gelatin, and refrigerate for approximately 15 minutes. Again let it set but not firm. Repeat alternating layers.
Repeat using the other flavor following the directions above.
Dip the pan into warm water for about 10 seconds.
Instead of turning the pan upside down onto the cutting board, cut the animal shapes in the dish using the cookie cutters and carefully remove and refrigerate for at lease 15 minutes before serving.
This is my favorite recipe. You can mix and match colors to go along with whatever you are celebrating, like someone¡¯s birthday or make different holiday or sports team colors. |
