HISTORY

In 1994, MGM Grand and Primeadonna Resorts announced plans to build New York-New York Hotel and Casino at the intersection of the Strip and Tropicanna Avenue.  

A recreation of the Manhattan skyline 每 these replicas are about one-third the size of New York City＊s architectural structures.  The tallest building at 529 feet is a replica of the Empire State Building.  

There is 150 foot replica of the Statue of Liberty.

This resort also boasts a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge which is 300 feet long and one-fifth the size of the original Brooklyn Bridge.  

Neil Gaskin of Gaskin and Bezanski was the architect of this megaresort.  The interior design and conceptual planning was done by Yates Silverman.  

The cost of New York-New York Hotel was $485 million.

In 1997, the casino opened on the third of January.  During the first 24 days of operations the New York-New York Hotel and Casino generated $19.3 million in net revenues.  It also generated a cash flow of $9.5 million.

During the first few days of operation over 100,000 people a day visited this resort site.  

On April 14, 1997, Sue Henley, a construction inspector in Las Vegas, won $12,510,549 on a Megabucks slot machine in the New York-New York Hotel and Casino.

In 1999, MGM Grand purchased Primeadonna Resorts, Inc. taking 100 percent ownership of 

New York-New York Hotel and Casino.

The casino boasts 84,000 square feet, over 2,000 guest rooms, over 2,000 slot machines and over 80 gaming tables.

ROOM SELECTIONS

SKYLINE ROOM 每 This is the most common or traditional type of room.  It is available with either one king size bed or two queen size beds.  The bathroom is furnished with a standard tub and shower.  A guest in the Skyline room will have about 300 每 400 square feet of space.

PARK AVENUE DELUXE 每 These guest rooms are 300 每 400 square feet and have been newly renovated and upgraded with contemporary d谷cor.  The room is available with a king bed or two queen beds.  Guests will find a marble countertop and a glass enclosed shower and tub combination in the bathroom.

BROADWAY DELUXE 每 This room is slightly larger than the skyline room and boasts 400-500 square footage of living space.  One king bed or two queen beds are available.  Guests in the Broadway Deluxe room will enjoy marble countertops and a glass tub enclosure in the bathroom.

SPA DELUXE 每 The features of the Spa Deluxe room include a sitting area as well as a king size bed.  Guests will have approximately 400 每 500 square feet of living area in this room.  In a corner of the room, guests will find a clover-shaped spa to enjoy.  In the restroom, guests will find an oversized shower for their convenience.

MARQUIS SUITE 每 This suite has 700 square feet of room.  In this suite, guests will find a king size Royal Plush bed, a separate seating area, and a hot tub to relax in.  The bathroom is furnished with marble countertops and an enclosed bathtub/shower combination.

PLAYERS SUITE 每 700 每 800 square feet is the size of this suite.  It also has an L-shaped design which provides guests with increased privacy.  Featured in this room are two queen size beds, a chaise lounge, a Jacuzzi, and two television sets. 

ENTERTAINMENT

ZUMMANITY

Zumanity is a 90-minute performance that encompasses the all-powering emotions of love.  The international cast of this performance captivates the audience with exotic dance and acrobatic movements.  A provocative presentation of eroticism and sensuality -- for lovers everywhere.

Zumanity is performed Friday through Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and at 10:30 p.m.; and, in addition to the orchestra and balcony theatre seating, duo sofa seating is available.  The cost of this show ranges from $65 to $125 per person.

RITA RUDNER

Rita Rudner is the headliner in the Cabaret Theatre.  Rita is a wonderful and hilarious comedienne who will have her audience burning up calories with laughter!  

Monday through Thursday performances are at 8:00 nightly.  Friday and Saturday performances are 9:00 p.m.

MANHATTEN EXPRESS ROLLERCOASTER 

A ride where guests will certainly experience thrills and negative G forces -- this coaster features the first heartline twist and dive maneuver.  This coaster claims heights of up to 203 feet with drops of 144 feet.  A ride with speeds up to 67 miles per hour 每 guests will need to hold on tight!

COYOTE UGLY 

Guests can find a bar and dance saloon 每 southern style!  At Coyote Ugly the female bartenders entertain guests while serving up drinks in Coyote Ugly fashion.  

THE BIG APPLE BAR

The Big Apple Bar boasts plenty of room with 4,000 square feet of space.  Guests can enjoy local and national entertainers in LIVE performances on a stage that rises above the bar!

TIMES SQUARE BAR

Great dueling piano players!  Guest will want to join right in on this lively entertainment while enjoying a drink or two.

NINE-FINE IRISHMEN

The Nine-Fine Irishmen is a pub which was inspired by a group of adventurous Irishmen.  Guests can enjoy food and drink prepared by nine of Ireland＊s greatest chefs.  The pub has an outdoor patio which has a fantastic view of the Las Vegas Strip.  This is no quiet place 每 guests will enjoy music, song, dancing, and even storytelling. 

SHADOW CREEK - GOLF

The Shadow Creek Golf Course is one of the nation＊s most exclusive and spectacular golf courses.  A special privilege to guests at MGM properties, tee time fee includes transportation to and from the golf course in a limousine, a golf cart and a caddy. 

RESTAURANTS

CONEY ISLAND PAVILLION

The Coney Island Pavilion is home to the famed Nathan＊s Hot Dogs.  Guests won＊t want to miss an opportunity for one of these delicious dogs!  And after the dog 每 guests can indulge in Haagen-Dazs ice cream.  

GALLAGHER＊S STEAKHOUSE

This steakhouse offers the finest USDA prime and dry-aged beef.  Excellent and fresh seafood is also served at Gallagher＊s Steakhouse.  Since 1927, this steakhouse was one of New York City＊s originals.  Guests will want to make reservations early to get into this delicious steakhouse.
