Nebraska, the Cornhusker State, admitted to the Union in 1867, has a population of 1,747,214.  The state bird is the Western Meadowlark and the flower is the Goldenrod.  Nebraska?€?s capital city is Lincoln although Omaha is the largest city.  

Nebraska is a major farming and manufacturing state ranking third among all states in the production of livestock and poultry.  They rank third in the production rye and sorghum forth in winter wheat, and fifth in corn. Omaha is the largest packing and processing meat center in the United States.

Nebraska borders the Missouri River and the Rocky Mountains.  To its north, it borders South Dakota and to the south, it borders Colorado and Kansas. To the west, it borders Wyoming and to the east, Iowa.

The State capital, Lincoln, is one of the most beautiful capitals in the United States.  The capital building nicknamed the ?€?Tower on the Plains,?€? built in 1922/32 is recognized worldwide as an architectural wonder.  Starting at the base, which is 437 feet on a side and three stories high it rises from the center 400 feet to a domed top adorned with a 19-foot tall bronze statute of the ?€?The Sower.?€? Also located in Lincoln are the Museum of Nebraska History; Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery; and the Mueller Planetarium.

Welcome to Callaway, Nebraska the Kite Flying capital.  A 200-acre piece of land is set aside for kite flying and every Labor Day weekend people from all over the Midwest join in the festivities.  Other attractions in Callaway include the ?€?One-Mile shoot out road rally; the Pioneer Picnic Rodeo; and the BRAN ?€‘° Bike ride across Nebraska.

Chadron located just south of the Black Hills in the Pine Ridge area of Nebraska is a beautifully landscaped area noted for its natural beauty and old west history.

Creighton located in Northeast Nebraska has much to offer. Berry Pepper Days, which is an annual event held in June offers a kiddie parade, a walk and run for health, car show and road rally, family BBQ, tractor pull, and more.  Santa Land is another annually event held in December displaying over 300,000 lights.  Winnetoon is a mini-mall of old-west historic buildings displaying many local artists carvings located just north of Creighton.

Nebraska City is a major tourist center boasting many apple orchards, historic areas, and shopping.  Some of the main attractions are the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park & Arboretum; The Mayhew Cabin, which was once used to hide runaway slaves; and the Wildwood Historic Home & Art Gallery.

Rushville, Nebraska encourages you to explore the land of the Old West influenced by Indians, cowboys and homesteaders.  Rushville is home to many historical buildings including the Gourley Opera House and Plains Theater (1914) and the Sheridan County Courthouse (1904).  Many antique and Native American craft and novelty shops are in the area also.  Fishing and hunting is available throughout the area.

Zoo Nebraska located in Royal is home to more than 40 animals such as tigers, wolves, and chimps.  Royal is a very small town located in Northeast Nebraska.
