Though couples often turn to more ¡°blatantly romantic¡± places like Paris and Prague for their getaways, Miami, Florida has much to offer in the way of ambience. 

On the basis of its location alone, Miami is undeniably attractive. The medium-sized city (population currently numbering at just over 2 million) can be found in southeast Florida between the Miami Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean. The temperature here rarely dips below sixty degrees Fahrenheit, and for that, its booming tourism industry is always reaping the benefits. Travelers from across the world, especially from the United States, collect in Miami to enjoy the Art Deco nightclub district in South Beach among other local attractions.

However, Miami also has much to offer the romantic travelers, the two lovebirds who still can¡¯t get enough of looking deeply into one another¡¯s eyes. For them, the Latin America influence found in Miami is extremely advantageous, as both the language and the culture of Latin America have earned a reputation for being well-suited for lovers.

For example, Miami boasts at least a dozen restaurants that solicit themselves as being romantic, ranging from Casa Tua to Restaurant St. Michel. These restaurants range from cheap to incredibly expensive, from bright and passionate to dark and sultry. The common denominator is only that they are tailored both in menu and atmosphere to enhance the chemistry between their guests.

Miami also boasts many ¡°romantic hotels,¡± such as The Tides of Ocean Drive or the more conventional Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne. Both hotels feature rooms overlooking the water, as there is something undeniably sensuous about watching the sun creep up over the horizon while you relax in the arms of a loved one. Most of these hotels also offer romantic, ¡°couple¡± massages, in which you and your partner can enjoy a Thai, deep tissue, or other variety of massage simultaneously. The tropical setting of the hotels also adds to their ambience, namely in the abundance of greenery and exotic flowers that are bound to be blooming just outside the window.

But, if you and your lover want to do more than eat and sleep while you¡¯re in Miami, you needn¡¯t sacrifice any of the romantic feeling. For the intellectual couple, a visit to the Latin American Art Museum could be just the thing for a lazy afternoon. The museum itself is located in downtown Miami and has 11 scheduled exhibits each year. The best part: admission is free.

Of course, couples can also take the conventional route and spend their afternoons idling on a local beach taking turns slathering on sun tan oil. At the very least, both he and she will have a legitimate excuse to put something sexy on without feeling silly. Perhaps one such afternoon, a meal can be packed and the leisurely afternoon can extend into a candlelit picnic on the sand with the most romantic backdrop of all: a brilliant, Miami-style sunset.

Finally, an important element of preserving the romantic atmosphere is simply relaxing; couples that try to do too much too quickly in terms of touring the city are bound to find themselves grumpy and exhausted when it comes time for the real purpose of their visit- growing closer as a couple. On a romantic vacation, there is no activity more worthwhile than bubble bath conversation in a dimly lit private suite¡­
