Finding a travel destination that is fun for kids is both easy and hard at the same time.  There are so many places to choose from that it can be difficult to decide which one you would rather go to.  If you are looking for something a little more unusual in the southern California area, Legoland may be just the choice for you and your family.

The park is fairly centrally located in southern California between San Diego and Anaheim.  It is very family friendly and has something for everyone to enjoy.  The park consists of more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions making it easy to spend a day or more there.  

There are many special areas designed for children of all ages and the adults.  These areas have no height restrictions so even the youngest guests can enjoy them.  In the Dig those Dinos area, children can excavate their own dinosaur bones.  This is a must for all dinosaur enthusiasts.  There is also a fairy tale brook where guests can ride through scenes from their favorite fairy tales.  A musical fountain, water play area, Legoland Express train and Lego building area are also popular spots with the kids.  Guests can also tour the onsite Lego factory where these toys are made and see a museum filled with classic old toys.  There are also several areas that exhibit many models made exclusively from Legos.

For those guests 34”± or taller, there are several rides that are available to experience.  Youngsters can ride safari jeeps, fire engines, helicopters, airplanes, and boats made to look like they are made from Legos.  Kids will especially enjoy the fire engines since they get to put out a ”°fire”± after the ride.

Those guests who are 36”± or taller have a few more options.  They can ride the Coastersaurus rollercoaster.  They can also participate in a royal joust while riding a Lego horse through an enchanted forest or they can ride the Sky Cruiser through Fun Town.  The Sky Cruiser is very popular and it is recommended to get in line for this one early in the day.

Another 4”± will give you yet more rides to choose from.  Guests can ride the Dragon coaster through the medieval castle.  The Wave Racer is a ride for those guests who wish to get a little wet.  This ride cuts through the water creating lots of splash.  Guests can also ride the Kid Power Towers high atop Fun Town.

Guests who are 42”± or taller have two more rides on their list.  The Technic Test Track takes guests on a wild rollercoaster ride filled with sudden starts and stops and turns.   They also have the option of the Bionicle Blaster.  This ride features 12 themed cars where riders are seated around a center wheel.  This wheel can be turned to make the car spin.  The faster the wheel is spun, the faster the car will spin.

There are also several shows for guests to enjoy when they want to rest from riding the rides.  The Playtown Theater for Kids features a ventriloquist who puts on a puppet show for the children.  The Big Test is a show that teaches kids about fire safety.  This show features a real working fire engine that may get the audience a little wet.  There is also a movie called Lego Racers 4D.  This movie not only has the 3D look, but there are other effects that the audience can feel.  Meet and Greets are also located throughout the park where fans can get pictures and autographs from their favorite Lego characters.

Legoland is a fun and unique place to go.  It is similar to other theme parks in general, but offers it in a completely different genre.  Everything at least appears to be made out of Legos making it a very child friendly place to be.
