Music lovers will delight in events at The Lyric Theater at 11th and Central.  Ballet, the Lyric Opera, and the Kansas City symphony all perform at the Lyric.  Broadway buffs will find Broadway plays and musicals at the Midland Theater.

Take a day to play at Worlds of Fun located off I-435 at Parvin Road.  The standard amusement park offers many rides and shows.  The Timberwolf world class wooden rollercoaster and the MAMBA, one of the world's longest, tallest, and fastest coasters is also at the park.  Five internationally themed areas offer fun from around the globe.  Next door at Oceans of Fun, splash and play at this tropical themed water park with multiple water slides, million gallon wave pool, and more.

Sports fans can choose their sport and season.  Football fans know the Kansas City Chiefs from Arrowhead Stadium but the same stadium also hosts major league soccer with the Kansas City Wizards.  Baseball fans can follow the Royals in the Kauffman Stadium.

Nightlife enthusiasts can dance the night away at Kabal, KC's newest spot for underground dance music with guest DJ's from around the world in a stylish, hip urban decor.

Gamblers, place your bets at any of the area casinos.  Harrah's North Kansas City Casino and Hotel and the Isle of Capri are two of the most popular.  Both offer Vegas style gambling and fun.  At the Ameristar Casino, check out Depot #9 for free live concerts nightly that feature local and regional bands.

If all the world's a stage, check out the Quality Hill Playhouse downtown.  With only 153 seats and no seat more than seven rows back, audience members don't miss a thing when musical and cabaret shows are performed here.

Those who appreciate art will enjoy a visit to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art at 45th and Oak streets.  More than 20,000 items are on display including a noted Oriental collection.  58 galleries and 11 period rooms contain Greek, Roman, and Eyptian works as well as those by American and European masters.

Delve into the city's past at The Kansas City Museum at 3218 Gladstone Boulevard.  A 1910 soda fountain and more are housed in Corinthian Hall, a 50 room mansion.

Dine together KC style at Gates Bar-B-Q at Main and Linwood.  First established in 1946, Gates is a local landmark with outstanding barbeque done the Kansas City way.

Stroud's Restaurant - a local favorite since 1933 - serves up their trademark fried chicken and more.  Cocktails and beer are also on the menu at Stroud's, located at 1015 E. 85th Street.

Enjoy the romantic atmosphere and taste the city's Italian heritage at Cascone's Italian Restaurant on North Oak Trafficway.  Pasta is the speciality of the house but the menu also includes steak, seafood, and more.  The brave of heart might try the escargot or the calamari fritti as appetizers.
