Try a trip to the Southern Junction a small town just outside Big D called Rockwall. Not only will you find plenty of authentic Texas cowboys and cowgirls, but every Thursday night there¡¯s free country western dance lessons. No dance partners are necessary for country line dancing. Just a desire to scoot your boots around the dance floor! For the brave of heart $5.00 will buy you a spin on the mechanical bull. You can feel like John Travolta in Urban Cowboy.
After spending time dancing like a Texan, what about a visit to the rodeo to watch the authentic cowboys and girls at work? The Mesquite Rodeo features events from barrel racing to bull riding. What better way to experience Texas?
