Water-proof cameras
Cameras are always a must have on vacations no matter where your destination. But fun filled beaches, beautiful waters and exotic fish particularly make for a great set of vacation photographs. However, expensive cameras are not water-proof and should not be brought anywhere near splashing water and they should especially not be brought into the water with you. Instead, invest in a cheap disposable camera designed just for use in the water. Water-proof cameras can be submerged in water and still not be ruined. You can take underwater pictures of sea life in the ocean or just some snapshots of friends and family horsing around in the hotel swimming pool. The camera's label will tell you how far (in feet or meters) it can be submerged underwater before it no longer works.
Beach bags
Bringing an oversized beach bag to the shore is really more of a must-do than a should-do, especially if you are being accompanied by friends, family or a partner. Beach bags should be large enough to fit towels, umbrellas, food and water, waterproof cameras, and beach toys for kids. The best kind will also come complete with pockets for storing smaller items such as sunglasses, wallets and bottles of sunscreen. If you are wearing extra layers of clothing down to the beach (such as a t-shirt and a pair of shorts over a swim suit) be sure your bag is large enough to fit those items as well.
Toys:
Even a group consisting only of adults shouldn't forget to bring cheap kids' toys down to the shore. Everyone loves to try to build the biggest, best sand castle on their stretch of the beach! To do so, you'll need plastic shovels, buckets and the like. Beach balls and water guns are also fun toys to bring, as are lightweight foam balls, Frisbees, and foam surfboards. Kids of all ages, from 4 to 40 will enjoy using such fun toys!
Hair conditioner:
The sun, chlorine, salt-water and wind can be rough on anyone's hair, whether you are a man or a woman, whether your hair is long or short, and regardless of its color or style. Be sure to bring and extra deep hair and scalp conditioner with your on your beach vacation to keep your hair and scalp from drying out. Dry scalps can get itchy and uncomfortable, sunburned scalps will start to peel, and windblown hair gets tangled. Combat all of these problems with one product, the deep conditioner of your choice.
Sunglasses:
Did you know that eyes can get sunburned too? Some people avoid buying expensive sunglasses because they so often get lost, misplaced, stolen, or broken, but you should never head off to the beach without a pair. Cheap ones will do just fine; cost is not the most important factor. The most important feature of the sunglasses you chose (and those that will be used by your friends and family) is their SPF factor. Your sunglasses should provide both UVA and UVB protection. |
