How to find a cheap show in Las Vegas
Las Vegas has no shortage of entertainment. Even in a world of high-priced headliners, cheap shows and entertainment can be easy to find.
Headliners
If you're going to Las Vegas and you want to see a big headliner show, your best bet is to book tickets early and avoid ticket brokers that charge high fees. Las Vegas headliners rarely fall into the Cheap Show category, but some shows do offer balcony or non-priority seating and these tickets are usually cheaper, offering you a chance to see a big show. Keep in mind most headliners sell out well in advance, so book your tickets as early as possible.
Half-price Tickets
There are ticket agencies in Las Vegas that offer same-day tickets for shows that have not sold out. In the very unlikely event a headliner is not sold out, these same-day ticket services may even have leftover headliner tickets at a slight discount. They regularly have tickets to non-headlining events, and ticket prices are 50% off.
Taking advantage of these deep-discount tickets is as simple as going to one of these ticket agencies, viewing the posted list of available tickets, and purchasing. Addresses for half-price ticket agencies are found in many of the free tourist booklets widely available in Las Vegas. Ticket availability lists are usually posted around 11:30 a.m. Most ticket agencies begin selling at noon, so arrive early if you want the best pick of show tickets.
Another source of half-price tickets are two-for-one coupons often found in free tourist booklets. Although you will have to buy two tickets to take advantage of this deal, it is still a good discount option.
Casino Deals
Some casinos will offer free show tickets to members of their player clubs or as part of a hotel package. Player clubs may or may not be a very economical way to get free show tickets, but it's hard to lose with a show-inclusive hotel package. A search of online travel websites may yield great deals on Las Vegas vacations that include show tickets. These tickets may be only a fraction of the cost you'd pay if purchased separately. For big Las Vegas shows, this may be the most economical way to get tickets.
Some smaller casinos and hotels also offer shows, and since the shows are smaller so usually are the ticket prices. Many comedy and celebrity impersonation shows operate from these smaller hotels and casinos and there may be certain days or times when ticket prices are even lower. Keep an eye out for promotions as these smaller venues often provide shows at very reasonable prices.
Local Venues
Finally, while in Las Vegas, don't overlook the many cheap and even free events sponsored by local radio stations, theatre groups, and city organizations. These events might not be on the strip, but there are many free and low-cost entertainment options available in the city. A scan of local papers or Las Vegas websites could prove fruitful in finding cheap entertainment.
