Going on a trip with the kids can be fun filled- but it does take a lot of planning!  The most important decision you can make is your destination.  You need to pick a place that is fun for the whole family and one that can provide enough entertainment for little ones as well.  The challenging part is finding a destination that is the happy medium between being fun for the children and relaxing for you!  It may sound hard, but it definitely is possible.

A lot of families find that taking a cruise is a great decision because of the variety of things there are to do for people of all ages.  Talking with a travel agent can help as well, because they will be able to tell you all of the different themed cruises that exist.  You might want to consider taking a cruise to a theme park like Disneyworld.  On your way to your destination, you will be able to swim, click a rock wall, attend dances, indulge in a cocktail and appetizer hour, take exercise classes and much, much more, depending on the cruise line you choose.  You might be wondering just how you will be able to do all this with your children along.  Well, most liners provide child care for those hours in the day that you would like a little free time of your own.  You won¡¯t have to worry that your child will be bored during this time either.  They will get to go swimming, partake in arts and crafts, see puppet shows and watch movies while floating in the pool- all under the watchful eyes of caretakers.

When you want to spend time together as a family, you will find an array of things to do as well.  There are many great restaurants on cruise ships, movie theaters and special events that both children and adults will enjoy.  And when you get to your destination, there is still more family fun to be had!  

If you don¡¯t want to take a cruise, why not plan a trip to California?  California boasts a state full of fun for the whole family.  From Sea World and Universal Studios to Disneyland and Magic Mountain, you and your family will be riding roller coasters, experiencing dolphins and whales up close and seeing ET in person!

Another great state to visit with the kids is Arizona.  Since even the winters don¡¯t get that cold in Phoenix and the surrounding areas, it¡¯s a fun place to experience many outdoor activities with the kids.  Visit a few of the water parks, go on a hike, have a picnic in a park or take a jeep tour of the desert.  No trip to Arizona is complete without taking the kids to Rawhide, an old west theme town filled with all the sights and sounds of the past!  Have your kids ¡°arrested,¡± watch a Wild West show, pan for gold and even try some authentic rattlesnake- if you dare!

Florida, Chicago, Hawaii, Texas and many more places have fun activities for both children and adults to enjoy.  As long as you are together with your family, you will have a great time and that¡¯s all that matters.  Just remember to plan ahead and think up some activities to do together as a family so you don¡¯t hear those fateful words, ¡°Mom, dad- I¡¯m bored!!¡±
