Scarborough, Maine is the home of Lenny the Moose 每 a 1,700 pound solid milk chocolate sculpture!  You＊ll find this life-size confection standing in a white chocolate pond (tinged with blue food coloring) outside of Len Libby Chocolates.  The kids will adore this delectable moose 每 and be enticed by the smell of fresh chocolate.  After you＊ve finished your visit with Lenny (sorry, no nibbling on the moose!), be sure to stop in at Len Libby to buy some of their mouth-watering selections, including nut clusters, fudge, peanut brittle and chocolate dipped fruit.  With their numerous treats and boxed chocolates, this candy store will serve as a delightful highlight to your vacation.

In Saco, Maine, you＊ll find Aquaboggan Waterpark 每 the largest such park in the state.  In addition to its three traditional waterslides - which drop you into a shallow pool - the park also offers Suislides, Totally Tubular, Aquasaucer, Stealth MKIII, wave pool, swimming pool, bumper boats and Water Wars.  The youngest will love the Children＊s Area, and the entire family will enjoy miniature golf and Model Race Cars.  On your way out, don＊t forget to stop at the gift shop, which also houses an arcade for those who are video game enthusiasts.  All in all, this is a great place to spend a summer day with the family.

Saco is also host to Funtown Splashtown, U.S.A. 每 a fun family amusement park with its sister waterpark.    Parents and children alike will enjoy the thrilling rides at Funtown, which include Dragon＊s Descent, Excalibur Rollercoaster, Thunder Falls Log Flume, Galaxi Rollercoaster, Astrosphere and Grand Prix Racers.  For the kiddies, there＊s Frog Hopper, Funtown Train, Red Baron Planes, Adventure River Canoes and more!  A number of special events and various types of entertainment are offered throughout the park＊s season.  The waterpark 每 Splashtown 每 boasts two sections:  Splashtown and Pirate＊s Paradise.  In the Splashtown area, you＊ll find numerous slides, tubes, a wading pool and Fun Lagoon.  Pirate＊s Paradise offers a vast collection of slides, as well as a pirate who dumps 500 galloons of water on visitors, sprinklers, water cannons, tipping cones, water dumping troughs and much more!  Your family will have the time of their lives at this magnificent combo-park!

The Lionwitch Puppet Theater 每 located in Freedom, Maine 每 will delight the kids with its lively, colorful performances.  Using hand, rod and shadow puppets, tales will come to life during the 45-55 minute show.  Performances may include The Ghost of Garbage, Magic Pot, Genie in the Lamp and Two Country Mice in New York, to name a few.  Workshops are also provided on a regular basis, which include a Build-Your-Own-Puppet project.  There＊s a surprise around every corner when you watch one of the Lionwitch Puppet Theater＊s shows 每 like a spaghetti landslide during one of the performances!  This is a great attraction for parents and children alike.  There are lots of special effects that make the presentation of these shows extraordinary, leaving visitors clamoring for more.

Carriages-in-the-Park 每 in Seal Harbor, Maine 每 offer spectacular horse-drawn carriage rides for the entire family.  Choose from among a variety of themes, including Day Mountain Sightseeing (1 hour) 每 take a leisurely ride past forests, ocean views, and a view of the Cranberry Isles, plus more; Cobblestone Bridge Tour (2 hours) 每 travel along through Pemetic Mountain to view Seal Harbor and the ocean.  Afterward, visit the first bridge to be used for carriage-drawn vehicles; Tea and Popover Carriage Ride (2 hours) 每 enjoy a breathtaking ride to Jordan Pond House, where you＊ll have tea and popovers on the lawn; and Day Mountain Summit: The Sunset Ride 每 ride to the peak of Day Mountain to enjoy magnificent views of a variety of surrounding locations.  Private carriages may also be chartered, if you prefer.  The kids will be thrilled by the opportunity to ride in a good ※old-fashioned§ carriage!

Plan a trip to Bangor, where you＊ll find Maine Discovery Museum 每 three floors of interactive fun!  The kids will enjoy educational playtime in seven different exhibit areas of the museum:  Artscape 每 kids will learn about color, sculpture and more, as well as participate in various activities which take place in the Art Studio; Nature Trails 每 youngsters can climb up to a treehouse or send a boat along its way on the river as they learn about Maine＊s ecosystem; Booktown 每 as children walk through a fairytale village, they＊ll take on roles in some of their favorite classic stories; Passport to the World 每 kids will learn all about the world around them as they drive the Mapmobile; Body Journey 每 travel through the inside of a body and learn about its various functions, and conclude by taking on the role of a doctor; Sounds Abound 每 discover music through karaoke, followed by taking on the role of various musical occupations; and Mission Discovery 每 learn all about the sciences, and then take a ride in a rotating Gyroscope.  This is an exciting and unforgettable tourist site 每 especially for the kids!

The Seashore Trolley Museum, in Kennebunkport, offers wonderful exhibits of trolleys in their early days.  As you move through the museum, you＊ll also be given the opportunity to watch as skilled craftsmen use their talents to restore antiquated trolleys before going on to the National Collection of American Streetcars.  From there, you＊ll be able to try your hand at operating a trolley, through the ※Be a Motorman§ program.  Take a ride in the country on an old trolley line, complete with a tour guide who will point out the highlights of your trip.  If you wish, you can take more than one ride, since your ticket is good for the whole day!  Top it off with a visit to the snack shop, as well as the museum store.  Chartered trolleys are also available for those who are celebrating family reunions.  Adults and kids alike will find this multi-faceted vacation site a truly enjoyable family funtime experience!

Dayton, Maine is home to Pumpkin Valley Farm 每 a family fun attraction that combines nature and playtime for young and old.  Start off by taking a journey through a 6-acre cornfield maze.  Eight feet in height, with many twists and turns, this living maze will delight every member of your family.  Visitors have the option of navigating the maze on their own or using the passport system.  If you opt for the passport, you＊ll be given 10 multiple choice questions to answer.  For each answer given, you＊ll receive directions to a certain point in the maze.  Those who answer them all correctly will successfully reach the end of the maze.  The Moonlight Maze is also available during the month of October.  Guests can choose to bring a flashlight or use the moonlight to assist them in navigating their way through to the end.  Families are invited to take a hayride into the pumpkin patch, where they can pick their own pumpkins, as well.  In addition to those farmyard attractions, there＊s also the Straw Bale Maze & Slide Tunnel, Cow Train and Animal Barnyard.  Play areas are available for the youngster, as well as a picnic area for families to take a break and have some refreshments.
