For those of you who are in the throes of planning your family＊s yearly vacation, consider all that Wisconsin has to offer.  With a wide range of attractions and activities, there＊s enough to keep the members of any family in a state of happy excitement for the duration of the trip.  If you＊re at all unfamiliar with the territory, here are some suggestions for places that you might wish to visit during your stay.

If your travels bring you to Milwaukee, be sure to see Discovery World.  This is a wonderfully complete museum of science, technology and economics, full of over 150 interactive exhibits which fill two floors.  Among the wonders are 4Cast Center 每 offering children the chance to learn about meteorology, using the latest technological tools; Entrepreneurs Village 每 kids can go in and ask questions about how to become whatever they want to be when they grow up, if it＊s of an entrepreneurial nature.  The ※pros§ will sit with them and discuss the situation; and TechnoJungle 每 youngsters can discover the magic of an infrared camera, a pneumatic dinosaur and learn to control a robot, too!  In addition, there are always special exhibits on display for the enjoyment of the entire family.

Wisconsin Dells is home to Noah＊s Ark Waterpark 每 the largest in America!  Among the hair-raising rides are The Point of No Return, Black Thunder, Flash Flood, The Plunge and Dark Voyage.  For the little ones, there＊s OctoExplorer, King of the Mountain and Jungle Rapids Kiddie Slide, as well as many others.  Featuring over 60 incredible water activities, Noah＊s Ark Waterpark will delight your family and provide some unforgettable memories.  There have been some recent additions to the park, as well, including private cabana rentals 每 each housing one table and four lawn chairs; waterproof temporary tattoos for the kids; gourmet Twinkies and a number of others.  Be sure to include this hot vacation spot on this year＊s itinerary!

The House on the Rock - located in Spring Green - carries a lot of mystique, with its numerous exhibits in a wide variety of themes.  Explore the Infinity Room, Streets of Yesterday, Spirit of Aviation, World＊s Largest Carousel, Doll House Building, Circus Building, Crown Jewel Collection and several other specialized exhibits, suitable for the entire family.  After your self-guided tour, don＊t miss the Village Shops 每 a series of specialty shops amid an outdoor garden setting, selling jewelry, figurine, homemade candy and lots more!  There＊s also a gift shop on the premises, as well as the Display Gardens 每 featuring 285 different types of plants.

Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin boasts a very unusual tourist attraction:  Alien Planet 每 An Extreme 3D Adventure.  This is a walk-through facility which provides 3D glasses for its visitors and lots of high-tech lighting, lasers and special effects.  At the beginning of your tour, you＊ll meet a 3D android in the Hologram Room.  As the adventure continues, aliens escape and run amok through the building.  Guests must find their way through the cloning laboratory, botanical nursery, Extraterrestrial Morgue and trek through a toxic waste containment area.  Be prepared to see some very unusual things as you tour through the building.  Hint:  Watch out at the end 每 you never know what＊s waiting!  Don＊t forget to visit the gift shop on the way out.  Parents, use your judgment when bringing very small children into this attraction.  It＊s generally recommended for children who are 8 years old and up.

Also in the Dells 每 in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin 每 you＊ll find Aqua Adventures Jet Airboat.  Take a trip on the Wisconsin River in one of the 750 hp jet airboats.  There are a variety of themes from which you and your family can choose:  Mystery Tour, Thrill Ride, Sunset Cruise, Sandbar Drop Off and more.  While most cruises last from 60 to 90 minutes, a ? Day Island Adventure is also offered, for those who prefer to spend a bit more time on the water.  Children of all ages are permitted to ride in the airboats, with parental supervision, making this the perfect outdoor vacation activity.  You may get a wee bit wet, but you＊re in for a great day of fun on the water!

Lost Canyon by Horse and Carriage is located in Lake Delton, Wisconsin.  For the family who enjoys magnificent scenery, this is the vacation spot for you!  Every quarter hour, horse-drawn carriages pull out and whisk visitors away on a one-mile ride through spectacular gorges that are surrounded by cliff walls.  The tour lasts for approximately 30 minutes and, since the each carriage can hold 15 passengers, large families can be accommodated.  Adults will love the close-up look at nature, and the youngsters will be thrilled by the horse-drawn carriages.  This is a definite ※must do§ before you leave Wisconsin!

There＊s nothing quite like a clown to make a child giggle.  If your youngsters＊ faces light up when a clown enters the room, then they＊ll love Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin!  This wonderful facility will thrill the child in all of you.  You＊ll see live performances featuring musical, magical and comedic clowns, as well as KidsWorld Circus 每 young volunteers are taken from the audience, given make-up and costuming and are then integrated into the circus show.  Elephant and pony rides are available for the kiddies, and you＊ll all enjoy the Great Circus Train and Parade. In addition to the events, visitors also learn about the history of clowns and view the collection of circus wagons.  When you need a bit of refreshment, stop in at The Pie Car 每 and don＊t forget to pay a visit to the Circus Store on the way out.

Hunt Hill Nature Center & Audubon Sanctuary 每 in Sarona, Wisconsin 每 is host to the Hunt Hill Family Camp each summer.  This is a wonderful week-long family camping adventure, suitable for children from age 5 through 15 and their parents.  If you＊d like to have grandparents or aunts and uncles included in your camp experience, they＊re more than welcome to join the fun.  While at the sanctuary, members of the camp staff will be offering expert instruction regarding nature in a forest and glacial lake environment, including the various types of wildlife that inhabit the area.  When dinner time rolls around, folks will enjoy home-cooked meals and share lively conversation of the day＊s experiences.  This is a marvelous 每 and healthy 每 way to spend a vacation with your family!
