Choosing Petersburg, Florida as your vacation destination spot is a fantastic idea.  In fact, you just can¡¯t go wrong with a trip to Petersburg because there are tons of things to do and the weather is great all year long!

Salvador Dali, that eccentric but genius artist from Spain has a museum in Petersburg as well.  You will get to view his sculptures and paintings in this museum that spans his entire career.  

Though it might bring a somber feeling to your Petersburg trip, a visit to the Florida Holocaust museum can¡¯t be skipped.  Its purpose is to bring a better understanding of the Jewish holocaust to the public.  So, pay homage to those who lost their lives during this grim period of history by visiting the museum that keeps their memories alive.

And on a lighter note, plan a trip to the Petersburg Summer Garden.  You will fall in love with this old park, which once was the spot for 19th century men and woman to congregate at.  This park has maintained its elegance throughout the years and you will be delighted with the pavilions and fountains that adorn it.

Another place in Petersburg that just can¡¯t be missed is St. Isaac¡¯s Cathedral.  It was built in 1858 and no expenses were spared.  You will marvel at the gold leaf dome and the marble and mosaic interior.  Bring the camera!!

The Pier should be included in your Petersburg vacation as well.  Visiting the Pier on your trip will provide you with shopping opportunities aplenty.  It¡¯s here that you can pick up little souvenirs or sample some of the local restaurants.  There is also a small aquarium that you might want to check out if you have time.
