Take a trip to Murfreesboro, Arkansas to the Crater of Diamonds State Park. This is the one and only diamond mine in the United States! There is no need to bring any tools¡ªjust go to the park and start your dig. Whatever you find in the over thirty acres of land is yours to keep. Many diamonds have been found here including the largest one over 40 carats. If you are traveling with children, the Diamond Spring Water Playground is newly opened. It features a wading pool and it is themed around the diamond mine.
If diamonds don¡¯t interest you and Civil War history does, take a trip to Pea Ridge. The largest battle of the civil war, this side of this Mississippi River, occurred in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Here, you can also travel on two and one half miles of what was known as the Trail of Tears.
Arkansas is a great place for hunting, fishing, and camping. Arkansas has some of the best state parks in the U.S. The numerous parks are visited by thousands yearly. One that is quite popular is Petit Jean State Park, near Morrilton. Petit Jean is absolutely beautiful and history filled. The park got its name from a French woman who traveled the state with her sweetheart in the 1700s. Petit Jean has beautiful wildflowers and a waterfall. The park provides boat rentals, hiking trails, and gorgeous overlooks.
If you and your family or just your and your spouse seeks a relaxing vacation; Arkansas has just the place for you. Hot Springs offers pure mineral baths in their many spas and bath houses. Hot Springs, Arkansas, is known for these extremely relaxing baths. These 47 hot springs were set up as a national park in the 1800s. Hot Springs Reservation Park is the oldest in the National Parks system. People have come from around the world to experience these refreshing and rejuvenating baths.
In Arkansas¡¯ capitol city of Little Rock, has an amazing zoo. At the Little Rock Zoo your child can adopt an animal! Your child can receive a kit containing a VIP Zoo Pass, a photo of the animal, notes about the animal, and an adoption certificate. The animals up for adoption are alligator, bald eagles, snakes, lions, and many, many more animals. Don¡¯t worry about having to take the animal home though! The zoo will keep your new ¡°pet¡± for you or your child!
Arkansas has so many beautiful areas to travel. This is an amazingly beautiful state; correctly nicknamed as ¡°The Natural State.¡± Arkansas is a place of tons of culture and especially a good history story. The people are wonderfully welcoming and love to tell about their part of the state. Arkansas is a place of good shopping, great food, and even better people. It is a place that you can feel good bringing your entire family to visit. The entire state is family oriented. There is always something for kids young and old to do. Arkansas is a place where everyone in the family will be happy to be visiting because there is something for everyone.
Arkansas is home to over two million people. There must be some reason so many people live and work here. Hundreds of thousands come to the state for the hunting and gaming alone. Couples can find a bed and breakfast for a weekend getaway or a honeymoon. Couple with children or extended families can visit anywhere in Arkansas and have a great time.
