Welcome to Big Sky Country!  Montana may be one of the last great open spaces where one can just as easily enjoy big city past times as roughing it like our ancestors over hundreds, and millions of years ago.  Whether a nature lover or a museum buff, Montana is the place to go.

Under the Big Sky

     Montana is best known for its grand open spaces and natural wonders.  Home to both Glacier National Park and Yellowstone, Montana is a great place to begin to commune with nature.

     Glacier National Park sits on one of the most rugged and beautiful sections of the Northern Rockies, and provides a scenic entrance into Canada.  Full of beautiful forest, breathtaking waterfalls, and wildlife such as bear and elk, Glacier National Park can be a challenging hike, or an awe inspiring drive for tourists.  Famous for the Going-to-the-Sun road be sure to experience this 52-mile road that takes you up and over Logan¡¯s pass and into some of the nations most beautiful territory.

     Yellowstone Park is also accessible in Montana.  Best known for Old Faithful, this 2.2 million-acre national park is host to numerous natural wonders such as the thermal geysers and Hot Springs, waterfalls, and the always-present wild buffalo, elk and wolves.  Take a camera, and a good pair of walking shoes to get the most out of this national treasure.

     If you still haven¡¯t had enough outdoor activities, check out the numerous Archeological digs and educational centers around the state!  Ulm Pishkun State Park is the site of possibly the largest bison kill area in the nation!  Not only will you learn about native-man¡¯s ingenuity in the quest for survival, but you will also learn much about the Native Americans respect for bison, and what it meant to them religiously, and socially. Located 10 miles south of Great Falls on I-15 at Ulm Exit, it¡¯s definitely worth the drive.

     Many of America¡¯s important historical moments happened in Montana.  Step back in time and into Lewis and Clark¡¯s shoes as their adventure to discover a Northwest Passage began.  Spanning much the Yellowstone and Missouri rivers, finding a starting place close to you isn¡¯t difficult.  The Lola trail and Lola visitor centers offer a nice look at the history, and is accessible off the US 12.

     Tired of the Great Outdoors, well, there is plenty to do that doesn¡¯t involve hiking, biking, canoeing or horseback riding too.  Gambling is legal in Montana, and although it¡¯s no Las Vegas, you can have fun playing the slots almost anywhere from the local gas station, to a small town casino.  

     Throughout the year, you can enjoy festivals throughout Butte, Helena, Billings and all over Big Sky country!  From holiday- themed, to the celebration of Montana¡¯s gold mining heritage, there is a festival and reason to celebrate nearly every month!
