Casinos, indulgence and extravagance are anything but rare in Las Vegas. Yet the Aladdin Hotel in its various forms and of late with a new name retains a charm and mystique of its own. It may be the Middle East exotica or the expanse of 35 acres, no one can be certain of what lies beneath the huge and enduring draw that this hotel, casino and entertainment complex has always been and remains until today. However one thing we do know-that the name of the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas evokes images of a vacation with the most stirring diversions, in a manner that makes it the envy of those in the gaming and entertainment business.
The new Aladdin in Las Vegas, extensively refurbished at a cost of over a billion dollars, is an oasis of luxury and deluxe living, spread over a vast area. It conveys a sense of a kind of gift holiday that we may ask of a genie, with luxury at every turn, in a manner to which very few are accustomed. It pampers the senses all your waking hours to give a feeling that is close to fantasy. Each section of the complex is built in self-contained manner, so you are not disturbed by activity that is extraneous to your choice. You can reside in the hotel, for example or stroll through the Desert Passage, without ever feeling the pulsating excitement of the 1800-odd slot machines in the Casino.
Aladdin¡¯s stellar achievement is that ¡®The King¡± chose it to wed his beloved. Elvis married Priscilla in a Chapel in the complex, and for this over all else, the Aladdin must command unquestioning devotion and a dedicated following. The sacred and celebrated Chapel still stands in service and a smaller room adjoining, serves smaller wedding groups. Couples and their families can do very well to select the Aladdin, whatever it may be called, to exchange vows in grand manner, as many people of distinction and undying love have done over the decades.
Some people choose the Aladdin for its pampering luxury. Others come blindly because of its awesome reputation as a place for a refreshing vacation. Some want to try their fortune at one or more of the gaming tables and most simply want to select the very best for their Las Vegas trip. Exciting and memorable shows are always part of the Aladdin and Las Vegas scene. Your vacation would be incomplete without the staggering impression that some romantic cabaret or a Performing Arts can create in your mind.
It is possible to stay at the Aladdin for quite a few days and still miss some outstanding shows, for such is the variety and excellence on offer. A magic show is something to lend top priority, for the one at the hotel is rare and not to be missed. The famed magician Steve Wyrick has a stage of his own and you can enjoy a fascinating exposure to his unique techniques of illusion in a setting that will appeal to your senses. Steve¡¯s techniques are a wonder, for you will not unravel any of his secrets, so subtle and quick are his sleights of hand.
Aladdin has never hesitated to splurge to meet and to exceed every guest¡¯s dreams. This has caused the property to change hands and it may well to do so again. Everyone who has had the opportunity to spend time at this Paradise will want it preserved for other visitors to follow. The unique atmosphere of the Aladdin is something to savor and will stand apart from holidays enjoyed elsewhere. Vacationers are fortunate that the refurbishing has kept its original character and appeal intact.
The hotel has over two thousand five hundred luxurious guest rooms with two rooftop swimming pools and a Convention Center. The Casino is everything you would expect and more, with some 70 table games and 12 poker rooms. The Casino has a Club named appropriately after the gracious city of London, with exclusive benefits for members. There are over 100 stylish retail shops with choice goods on sparkling display in the cavernous mall. Top artists grace the Aladdin¡¯s Theatre for the Performing Arts. Large audiences enjoy stellar concerts on a spectacular stage.
The excitement at the Aladdin stops only when you insist on rest. The variety of entertainment will keep you in top mood, hour after hour, and for evenings on end. Classic rock bands keep you company as you enjoy a drink at the Sinbad Lounge. Curve is an elegant nightclub. It has dance floors and balconies with stunning views of the city. The Elemis Spa has 35 private rooms and offers comprehensive wellness services.
Aladdin combines elegant accommodation and the best entertainment with fine dining choices as well. The Spice Market is perfect for a quick meal with a buffet featuring food from around the world. The Restaurant Elements offers steaks and seafood with a wood fire grill and an exhaustive wine list and the best standards of service. Tremezzo specializes in Italian cuisine with a wine list and a city view to match the exquisite fare. The Bonsai Sushi Bar takes you to the heart of Asia. The unique bar Flights specializes in wines with over 600 varieties on offer. The Zanzibar is ready all day and night with a sumptuous sandwich and the like whenever you may be hungry.
The complex was originally constructed in the late 1960s and rebuilt virtually from foundations up between 1998 and 2000. It is now part of the Planet Hollywood group but continues to be a stellar attraction of Las Vegas and a symbol of the luxury that all of us would like to have in our lives.
