North Dakota is a state rich in incredible landscape and wildlife. It is certainly a state with many fine sites for camping. When looking for a camping site in North Dakota, keep in mind that because of the harsh winters that are common in this state, parks and campgrounds are often only open to the public during the summer months. Campground seasons typically last from May through September. Be sure to call a campground ahead of time so you know when they are open.
On the banks of the Missouri River, you¡¯ll find Downstream Campground. The campground has ample campsites with electrical hook-ups available, as well as several primitive sites. Near the campsites you will find showers, playgrounds, and grills to keep your camping trip enjoyable. The campground is located within a few miles of public recreation areas that offer restrooms, a beach for swimming, picnic shelters, and volleyball courts. Boat ramps are also convenient to this campground, as well as a lovely wooded wildlife area.
East Ashtabula Campground consists of 12 acres right on Lake Ashtabula. Most of the 38 campsites at this campground have electrical hook-ups. There are showers and restrooms available for campers, as well as a picnic shelter and a playground for the kids. East Ashtabula Campground also features a nice beach for swimming on the lake. Enjoy boating or fishing on the beautiful lake. Keep in mind that no alcoholic beverages are allowed at East Ashtabula Campground.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a glorious place to enjoy nature while you are camping. The park offers three separate campgrounds, with sites available to accommodate large groups. The park features natural and geological history that can be observed on the nature trails, while riding on horseback, or while canoeing. Fishing in the Little Missouri River is also a popular pastime at Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
Roughrider Campground features peaceful camping with modern conveniences located near several fun attractions. Roughrider Campground features sites with hook-ups for both water and electricity. There are also hot showers available to campers, and even a laundry facility. Roughrider Campground is convenient to nearby parks, pools, miniature golf, a zoo, and museums.
Prairie Haven Campground is a lovely 11-acre campground, conveniently located right off the interstate. Prairie Haven Campground features serene camping at tent sites, RV sites, and even in a cabin. Water and electrical hook-ups are available at the campsites. Laundry facilities, hot showers, and modern restrooms are available to campers. You can also enjoy the on-site restaurant and make use of the on-site gas station. Prairie Haven Campground also features a small, spring-fed lake.
Located on the shores of Devils Lake, Eastbay Campground offers many primitive sites as well as an ample number of sites with hook-ups for water and electricity. The nearby boat ramps and beach provide easy access to the beautiful lake, which is known for its great fishing opportunities. Ice fishing is available in winter months. The campground store sells firewood to campers. There are also many local attractions that are convenient to Eastbay Campground. |
