Many women are so busy taking care of their families that they forget to take care of themselves.  Taking time out to nurture the nurturer is paramount is achieving true fulfillment and happiness, and you know what they say ¨C when momma ain¡¯t happy, ain¡¯t nobody happy!  When planning a women¡¯s only vacation there are many things to consider.

Are you planning a trip for singles, marrieds, married with children or a combination of all of these?  Are there going to be a combination of ages going?  What might interest a 70 year old grandmother, might not hold the same interest for a 20 something single girl ¨C or it might, depending on the common interests of the individuals involved.

What about childcare for the ladies with children: can the husbands really cope with taking care of the children during the wife¡¯s get-a-way? Does he need back up support?  Many parents of infants and toddlers find that this is a great hindrance in leaving the children in the sole care of one parent.  It¡¯s usually the mom who takes the major role in care giving, so it¡¯s especially difficult for moms to get away.

After the childcare issues are dealt with, now deciding on a destination is the next major decision to be made.

There are many travel organizations targeted for women only travel, from spa vacations, to cooking tours of the Tuscany region, to snow sledding in Alaska.  From rough and tumble adventurers to the very cautious explorer, there truly is something for every woman.  

First determine what you want to achieve and experience, is it excitement, culture, relaxation?  Do you want to go to a resort that is all inclusive, for the singles out there do you want to meet members of the opposite sex ¨C do you just want to be left alone?  Is shopping on the agenda, do you want to learn a new skill or even help out with a charitable organization?  Is it local or international travel that you seek?

Cruises of all types are available and make a great choice for women wanting to get away.  Trips range from 3-4 days to 2 weeks and longer. Destinations include the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Europe and numerous more locales. 

All inclusive resorts are also a great choice.  These resorts are not just in tropical locations anymore, you can find them in many areas, including winter spots such as skiing resorts.

Next decide your budget and for how long your vacation will last.  Be attentive of everyone in your party, and try to accommodate the needs of all.  For instance if one person can afford to go anywhere and has no time constraints, it¡¯s only fair to work around the other women who are traveling in the party that do have budgetary concerns and restrictions on time off of work, keeping in mind that everyone from the wealthiest to the most financially challenged still has to be happy with the vacation arrangements. 

Try to be flexible and let everyone choose something that would make this vacation special for them.  With some forethought and careful planning, traveling with women only can be the experience of a lifetime.
