NATURE¡¯S BEST

MARINE LIFE

TEA TIME

You¡¯ll feel like you¡¯ve stepped into England at the elegant afternoon tea presented by The Fairmont Empress. For over 90 years, this acclaimed hotel has treated guests to this charming ritual featuring tea service, fruit, sandwiches, scones and delicate pastries, all accompanied by soft piano music and a fantastic staff of attentive servers. A modest dress code is strictly enforced and reservations are required. The Afternoon Tea is not recommended for children under five. Call 250-389-2727 to book your table.

HISTORICAL LANDMARKS

Get lost in Canadian history at Craigdarroch Castle. This four-story Victorian-era mansion, first owned by coal tycoon Robert Dunsmir, is furnished to reflect the 1890s and early 1900s, when the Dunsmir family resided there. Peek into its elegantly decorated 39 rooms for a glimpse at what life was like for the wealthy of that era and admire the impressive architecture. Self-guided tours last approximately 45 minutes to one hour and maps are available in seven languages. Located at 1050 Joan Crescent. Call 250-592-5323 for admission and hours of operation.
