Tucson is not just hot weather and desert.  Tucson offers many fun and romantic things to do at all times of the year.  Depending on what you like to do together will determine on what activity you may wish to do.  Try something new.  There is nothing more romantic than flying above the Sonoran Desert in a hot air balloon.  Ride above the Tucson and Phoenix area silently and enjoy the view.

Museums like the Arizona State Museum and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum are very interesting.  It¡¯s nice to walk around hand in hand and learn about our earth and deserts.  The Arizona State Museum is a Smithsonian Institution affiliate so it is a top quality museum.  The Biosphere 2 is in Tucson.  Bio 2 is a living laboratory where scientists experiment on large Earth systems.  Another very romantic thing to do is stargazing at the Kitt Park National Observatory.  Colossal Cave and Kartchner can both be explored together.  Tours will take you down into the cool caverns.  

Birding is popular in Arizona.  The Ramsey Canyon Preserve is home to more than 14 hummingbird species and other birds.  Birdwatching is an easy going type of activity that anyone can enjoy.  There are hiking trails, an historic home, a tea room and a greenhouse on the grounds of the Tohomo Chul Park.  Hiking together is enjoyable for many couples and does not cost anything.  Tucson is home to some beautiful botanical gardens and also the Reid Park Zoo.  

Tucson has lots of Spanish history and has preserved several missions.  Mission San Xavier de Bac is one of the best preserved missions in the country.  The grounds are beautiful and all the missions can be very educational and not cost much.

If you like the movies, you can visit the Old Tucson Studios and learn how it used to be in the old days.  The Mescal Movie Set is open to the public and was featured in more than fifty films.  One film they featured was The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean.  Another popular film made here was the 1993 version of Tombstone.

During the winter months you can go skiing at Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley.  Here you will find great skiing for both beginners and experts.  During the summer months when the snow has melted you can still enjoy the summer sky ride, for some fantastic views.

The Center for Creative Photography is located in Tucson.  Arizona is full of talented artists of all kinds.  Stroll the market areas and shops for some wonderful Native American items, from jewelry to baskets.  The colors in the desert skies bring writers and artists to the area.  The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking and should be seen by all, especially those in a romantic mood.  Stucco buildings and pueblos have been preserved in many areas of Tucson.  Desert gardening is water saving but you will be surprised to see how many plants thrive in the desert climate.  All these scenes attract people to the area.

Of course Tucson has things that all big cities have.  It has the night life, the music and great restaurants to experience.  The desert air makes you feel relaxed.  The dryness of the air helps keep the temperature from being unbearable.  Enjoy it all in Tucson.
