Florida¡¯s history is so attractively preserved at Daytona Beach that you are at risk of missing the Daytona International Speedway. The world associates the name Daytona with motor sports and indeed the area has parks and tracks to slake the thirst of the most avid enthusiast. Tear yourself away from the other temptations of Daytona, to witness at least one major race. You will savor the experience for a lifetime.

Golf, fishing, water-sports and baseball-name your favorite way of staying fit and Daytona has options for you, if even as a mere spectator. Do keep time for your daily jog, walk or swim, for the strictest of diets are easy prey for Daytona¡¯s culinary attractions! You will find oceans of variety at the most enormous seafood buffets, decorated with colorful and imaginative salads.  Climb to the top of Daytona¡¯s tallest building for more conventional American and Continental cuisine as you take in the sights. Sample cuisine from around the world, but do not miss a meal of authentic Cuban fare, if you do not have time for them all. 

Daytona shines at night as well. Choose from sedate Internet Cafes to Dance bars, Clubs and Karaoke. Indulge in coffee, comedy or country, as may be your wont. Choose gifts and shop to your heart¡¯s content at Antique shops and a charming European-style shopping village, but do not miss a box of handmade candies from the Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory that is almost as much a part of Daytona as the beach.

Now for the important part: visit between May and October and witness a miracle of nature as sea turtles come ashore to nest at the very sites of their birth. This rare spectacle will remain with you as a rare treasure for always. Do your bit not to disturb the creatures as they reenact a phenomenon that is older than man.
