Also open year-round is the Old Coast Guard Station Museum, located on 24th Street. This museum features several interactive exhibits on subjects such as Virginia¡¯s nautical history, lighthouses, ocean rescue, and shipwrecks. The museum¡¯s research library houses a large selection of books, tapes, and videos that can be viewed by visitors. The Old Coast Guard Station Museum also features a gift shop and year-round special events.

Another historical site located in Virginia Beach is the Lynnhaven House. This 1725 medieval house still boasts much of its original construction, and still does not have running water or electricity. Costumed guides provide oral descriptions of the house and colonial life in Virginia.
