The animal lovers in your family will love a trip to the Saint Louis Zoo. Over five thousand animals call this ninety acre zoo home and there are plenty of things to do as well as see here. Younger children will enjoy the Children¡¯s Zoo, they will be able to interact hands on with some of the zoo¡¯s residents as well as imitate them in the zoo¡¯s ¡°Just Like Me¡± play area. There are many great educational programs offered at the zoo for kids of all age groups. As you explore the other areas of the zoo you will see animals in their native environments. From creatures that live in the polar ice caps to residents of tropical rain forests there will be something here to amaze everyone.
A fun afternoon of shopping with the kids can be done at the Soulard Farmer¡¯s Market. Open Wednesday¡¯s through Friday¡¯s and host to over one hundred and forty vendor¡¯s you will find everything from Native American crafts to mini doughnuts here.
For a little fun in the sun take your children to Six Flags St. Louis. Children will enjoy over twenty exciting rides, Hook¡¯s Lagoon an interactive water play area complete with a five story tree house, many exciting shows and events as well as delicious food. Discounted tickets are available when you stay at one of several local lodgings.
