Thinking about visiting Albuquerque? Wondering what to do with kids? Albuquerque is the largest city in New Mexico and offers plenty of museums, aquariums, and amusement parks that will keep the kids entertained for days. Here are just a few things to do while you¡¯re there.

The Museum of Art and History offers a permanent art exhibition including works from the late 19th century to the present day. Tours, such as the Sculpture Garden Walking Tour and the Old Town Walking Tour, are offered at different times throughout the year. The museum offers Family Art Workshops every Saturday for creating your own masterpieces. Also on display is a rare Lunch Box Collection with over 64 old, metal lunchboxes that will take you back in time. 

The Albuquerque Biological Park consists of 4 facilities, the Albuquerque Aquarium, Rio Grande Zoo, Botanic Garden, and Aquatic Park that offer anything from beautiful plants to aquatic animals. The Albuquerque Aquarium¡¯s highlight is its 285,000-gallon ocean tank filled with brown, blacktip, sandtiger, and nurse sharks living alongside brilliantly colored reef fish, sea turtles, and eels. Many habitats are featured here from coral reefs to the ocean deep. 

If animals are what will make your child¡¯s day, then the Rio Grande Zoo is the place to go. The Rio Grande Zoo, a 64-acre park, was founded in 1927 and exhibits 250 species of native and exotic animals. The kids will enjoy seeing animals such as seals, sea lions, elephants, polar bears, monkeys, jaguars, and many more.

The Rio Grande Botanic Garden encompasses 20 acres and features a huge 10,000 square foot glass conservatory that houses many native and exotic plants as well as hundreds of free flying moths and butterflies. On Thursday evenings in the summer a series of musical concerts are offered including country, folk, bluegrass, and many other types of music. The Tingley Aquatic Park is a beach-type park featuring fishing lakes, swimming areas, picnic areas, and multiple trails and paths.

Cliff¡¯s Amusement Park offers discounted admission, free parking, ride tickets, and passes for youth groups, company picnics, birthday parties, or any large group. Here you will experience thrills and chills on the Galaxi Roller Coaster, the first roller coaster in the state of New Mexico. The 3,000 foot long New Mexico Rattler will take you up and down and all around the park. On the Cliff Hanger you will rise to great heights to be dropped back to Earth at the speed of gravity. The Rocky Mountain Rapids and the Big Flush will get you soaked on a hot New Mexico day. During warm seasons, the Water Monkeys Adventure provides a water playground for hours and hours of fun.

The Hinkle Family Fun Center is one stop fun that sits on 10 acres and is open 363 days of the year. The center offers a regular arcade and the Nickel City Arcade with over 100 arcade games and a free play island. Bumper boats shoot water over 20 feet. There are bumper cars and a 1/8-mile twisting and turning go-kart track. Play all day on the 18-hole miniature golf course decorated with streams, waterfalls, bridges, and tree houses. Rock N Roll and The Rock offer hours of rock climbing fun. A 15-foot arena hosts laser tag competitions. Two arenas provide paintball fun for pros and beginners.
