There are also 21 screened shelters and three group facilities. For large group functions, the Group Recreation Hall is ideal for meetings and events. Lake Whitney State Park also features a landing strip for those who want to fly in to enjoy the park. The park also features a beach for swimming, a boat ramp, and excellent fishing sites.
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is centered on Enchanted Rock, an enormous granite mountain. Standing more than 400 feet above the area?€?s hills and grasslands, Enchanted Rock is the second-largest exposed batholith in the United States. The views from the top of Enchanted Rock are spectacular. The wildlife and plant life from the surrounding area thrive at Enchanted Rock, including lizards, deer and armadillos lurking amidst the ferns and moss. Camping, hiking, and rock climbing are all popular activities available at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.
Big Bend Ranch State Park is located in the Chihuahuan Desert. The park consists of a massive amount of acreage along the Rio Grande. McKinney Falls State Park includes almost 750 acres of beautiful property along Onion Creek in the heart of Austin. Even though the park is close to the city, nature and wildlife flourish here. In the midst of the charming forest of hardwoods and wildflowers you will find the breathtaking falls, which attracts fishers, swimmers, and lovers of nature. The park offers campsites and spacious screened shelters, all with nearby access to the creek. McKinney Falls State Park also features six miles of trails ideal for those who want to enjoy a session of hiking or mountain biking.
