Here the visitor will find The Barbados Tropical Garden, Biblical Garden and Horticultural Maze as well as bicycle trails. Middleton Place, an 18th century plantation, is known for its gardens, which are the oldest landscaped gardens in America. This plantation house has survived a fire and an earthquake and is filled with period antiques. West Ashley also offers several riverfront hotels with beautiful views and close proximity to dining and nightlife.
The Daniel Island region is known for the ghost tours offered here. Lowcountry Ghost Walk is the best known.
