Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is actually divided into two very different beach going experiences and those that visit always have a preference.

Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach each have a lot to offer and once you know what kind of atmosphere each has, you can decide for yourself which direction you'd like your vacation to take.

North Myrtle Beach is very laid back and very low key. With the emphasis on family, you won't find a lot of loud music and loud parties, but rather a place that values long, quiet walks on the beach at sunset. The hotels vary from five star to quaint little Mom & Pop operations, so whatever your budget, you'll find a nice, clean room here.

Myrtle Beach is the area that loves the nightlife. Lots of clubs to dance the night away line the Board Walk and just in case you didn't get your fill of roller coasters at Carowinds, you can hop on another one at the Family Kingdom Amusement Park. The beaches are usually more crowded than North Myrtle Beach, but if crowds are ok with you, Myrtle Beach is a super fun beach experience.
