Of course, your visit would not be complete without attending a real Texas rodeo. The rodeos performed at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo are some of the best in the country! The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is also the home of the world¡¯s oldest stock show. Attend a livestock sale and listen to the auctioneer. Other rodeos are held in the Cowtown Coliseum.  Besides hosting rodeos such as the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, the Will Rogers Memorial Center has many equestrian events throughout the year including the National Cutting Horse Association competitions. 

Several other museums worth mentioning include the Cattle Raisers Museum, which relates the tale of cattle ranching through interactive exhibits; the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, which reminds visitors that the world of ranching and cattle driving didn¡¯t just belong to men; and the National Cowboys of Color Museum and Hall of Fame, which relates the stories of African American cowboys in the old West. The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame has a wonderful collection of restored wagons along with many photos and other memorabilia. 

Take a ride on the Grapevine¡¯s Vintage Railroad, otherwise known as the Tarantula Train. It travels through the historic district daily. To find out how bull riding is really done, be sure and check out the world renowned Billy Bob¡¯s Texas, Texas largest honky-tonk. Experience realistic reenactments of life in a saloon at the White Elephant Saloon. Concerts and other musical entertainment are produced in its cabaret theater. 

You can relive the pioneer life at the Log Cabin Village with its six replicated log cabins and live demonstrations. You can also visit and take a guide tour of Thistle Hill, a beautiful cattle baron mansion. Branch out from the city into ranch country. There are numerous ranches in the surrounding area. Some are available for tours. Others offer trail riding, hay rides, hoedowns, and even private parties. Some of these ranches even have bed and breakfast accommodations so you can immerse yourself in the life of a Texas rancher. 

Fort Worth offers many cultural events, also. You can attend the Fort Worth Opera and the Texas Ballet Theater. You can also enjoy the sounds of the Fort Worth Symphony. Don¡¯t forget to check out the many fascinating and exotic animals of the Fort Worth Zoo.  Take a stroll through the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and the Fort Worth Japanese Garden and experience the peacefulness of nature. Hike along the 25 miles of trails at the Fort Worth Nature Center. Keep your eyes open, as visitors have reported seeing deer and buffalo along the way.
