Are you thinking of taking a romantic trip to Alaska with your significant other?  If so, one of the best possible places to visit is Seward, Alaska.  It has amazing things to do, cozy and romantic places to stay and some of the best local fresh seafood you could want.  Because from seeing wildlife to a perfect night on the town, Seward has what you are looking for.

     Seward can be reached in a variety of ways, by sea, by air and by land, but two of the best ways to get there include driving on the Seward Highway National Scenic Byway that is 127 miles from Anchorage to Seward.  The road winds along the coast of the Kenai Peninsula and is a wonderful way to see the scenery.  The other way is to take the Alaska Railroad, which also leaves daily from Anchorage and is a wonderful way to see the breathtaking beauty of Alaska.  Either way, you are sure to enjoy the journey, not just the destination.  

     Once in Seward the opportunities for adventure abound.  One fun place to visit is the Alaskan Sea Life Center.  It is the first cold water marine institute of it¡¯s kind, and it is worth the trip.  There are underwater viewing tanks, live exhibits, etc.  

     When you are ready to get out and enjoy nature, the choices are endless.  Perhaps you would like to take a relaxing horseback ride down to Resurrection Bay.  It is a great way to see bald eagles up close in their natural habitat along with some great scenery.  Or perhaps a drive to the nearby Exit Glacier to see what a glacier really looks like.  Don¡¯t forget to be careful and pay attention to the posted signs.  Glaciers can be dangerous.  If you and your loved one are up for a strenuous hike, you can trek to the Harding Ice Field with a friendly and knowledgeable guide.  Or, if you prefer, you can see it all by air in a small plane built just for two lovebirds and one pilot.

     Another way to see all the Seward has to offer is to take a cruise in the Kenai Fjords National Park.  You will see islands fjords, glaciers, whales sea lion, otters and other variety of sea life.  The cruises are available for several hours or all day with a fantastic salmon dinner included.  If you like to sport fish, Seward is the place.  There are many fishing charter boats available, and in no time at all you can be fishing for halibut and salmon and the best fish story you¡¯ve ever told.

     In Chugach National Forest, located near Seward, you can camp, fish, hunt and hike to heart¡¯s content.  They offer both camping sites and cabins to choose from.  You can also pan for gold.  You may not get rich, but you¡¯ll probably have a good time trying.  

     When you are tired from your day¡¯s activities, there are some fantastic choices for lodging.  What could be more romantic than to stay in a luxury cottage or a quaint Bed and breakfast?  Many offer such amenities as fireplaces, hot tubs, and lots of privacy.  There are also some excellent hotels if you prefer room service at the touch of a button.  If you want to go out to eat, the local seafood is fresh and well prepared and the cocktails are plentiful.  Eating in Alaska is a treat all in itself.
