The Angus Barn on Glenwood Avenue is a Steak House worthy of the most demanding beef lover¡¯s affections. A complimentary relish tray makes for a dignified wait to be seated and speaks volumes of the owner¡¯s passion to serve. You will be comforted to know that the restaurant ships in bulk quantities of meat and holds them for 3 weeks for safety, before carving and use for guests. Suffice it to say that the menu leaves no room for disappointment and the matching wines have been selected with aplomb.

Margaux¡¯s on Creedmoor Road offers Mediterranean cuisine in a bright and relaxing atmosphere. The menu is very fluid but always fresh with both ideas and ingredients, so it is possible to be a frequent and regular patron. Vegetarian entrees and a separate menu for young ones are thoughtful touches that make you feel especially welcome. The restaurant is open just for dinner and reservations are advised as it has a fair name far and wide. 

The Jamaica Market Place is a capital choice for Caribbean aficionados. Not only are the food and drinks authentic but you can shop for ingredients and music from the sun kissed islands as well. A visit to this restaurant and store complex transports you to Jamaica and back for an exhilarating interlude.

The Casa Carbone in the Oak Park Shopping Center brings a piece of Italy to Raleigh. Vegetarian fare, salads and fresh fish features on the menu with the expected Pasta and Calzone. The wine list has been chosen with care and there are excellent desserts to round off a most delectable meal.  

The Taj Mahal on North Boulevard Plaza is a good choice for Indian food as the extensive lunch and dinner buffets make it convenient for you to sample the many exotic offers from all corners of the sub-continent. Excellent vegetarian dishes are a special treat as are the colorful desserts. 

Kanki is a house of Japanese Steaks and Sushi. You can experience the culinary excellence of this great land with artful and fresh presentations of meat, seafood and vegetables. There are some outstanding desserts as well and the service is attentive and immaculate in the best Japanese traditions.
