Gettysburg is a town steeped in history¡ªthe turning point of the American Civil War, the Gettysburg Address, Picket's Charge, General Robert E. Lee's Headquarters, Little Round Top, and the Devil's Den. After your visit to the battlefield, make sure to visit the National Military Park, a battlefield shrine to the Union and Confederate soldiers who fought at Gettysburg. The town itself has a pleasant downtown area for shopping, galleries, and restaurants.

Poconos
