Initially trained in architecture, Lloyd Klein ventured into the world of fashion design after attending Givenchy¡¯s haute couture runway show.  From there, he became truly mesmerized with fashion.  Through his own curiosity, Klein took it upon himself to study some of the greatest names in both American and European fashion such as Yves Saint Laurent, Jaques Fath and Roy Frowick Halston. Using his extreme interest and self-taught knowledge, Klein¡¯s talent as a dormant designer erupted in 1994 when he presented his first spring/summer collection in Paris.  His couture affliction began to materialize even further when he became the unexpected head designer for Maison Mme Gr¨¦s.  While working for the exclusive fashion house, Klein proved that he was a natural in the realm of design, as he became an expert at Gr¨ºco fabric draping.  Along with this, he honed his skills as a tailor and soon became a master of his trade that kept in sync with the tradition of the illustrious fashion house.

After his work with Maison Mme Gr¨¦s, Lloyd Klein went on to showcase his collections around the world in Milan, London, Russia and Asia.  It was not until 1998 that Klein made a solid imprint in fashion by creating his base of couture operations in the United States.  The following year, Klein made the most of his opportunities and presented his spring/summer collections during New York Fashion Week at 7th on Sixth.  While at the famous fashion event, the tents that filled the city¡¯s Bryant Park included famous fashion names by the likes of Ultimo, Martha¡¯s, Red Velvet and Tootsie, all which welcomed Klein¡¯s designs with open arms.

Reflecting on is training in architectural detail; Lloyd Klein¡¯s designs are unexpectedly classic and futuristically elegant all at once.  Each piece differs, but remains consistent with his technique as they preserve a bold balance of broad masculinity and edgy femininity. His mastery of drapery shows in many of his pieces as delicate fabrics flow on the female form, adhering to the most flattering curvaceous hot spots with meticulous precision.  Although most items have neutral shades, the dramatic patterns and accurate cuts contrastively praise the colors with excitement.  His skirts, coats, blazers and various unique forms of outerwear radiate modern sensuality in the female.  His mixing and matching of a variety of textural fabrics creates fine garments that foresee the direction of the industry.  Constrictive, yet flattering corset-like bodices provide a modernized classical look while flowy gowns wisp through the air with elegance.  His looks are diverse in that it can range from an urban street look to a sophisticatedly suggestive ballroom dress. 

Nicole Kidman, Angela Bassett, Kristin Davis and Renee Zellweger are just some of the A-list clients that have donned the designs of Lloyd Klein. With a fashion house in Paris, a newly launched men's line and a showroom in New York, Klein is continuing his development and growth as a visionary fashion designer.  Even though Klein lacks the formal training received by many top designers, he proves his superior talent with his aesthetic eye for modern fashion and style.
