Romantic, elegant, vintage, these are the words that accurately describe the French fashion label Chlo¨¦.  Known for its luxurious style, beautiful cuts, and flattering styles, Chlo¨¦ is a major force within the fashion industry.  Their clothes, cosmetics, and accessories frequent the must have lists for fashionable women everywhere.

Started in 1952 by Gaby Aghion and Jacques Lenoir, the fashion label was later introduced to the public four years later in 1956.  Gaby Aghion named the label Chlo¨¦ after one of her close friends because she thought the named sounded like the name of a fortuneteller and would reflect the femininity of the line.  In 1965, Karl Lagerfeld lent his talents to Chlo¨¦ and would remain there for nearly twenty years.  After Lagerfeld left in the early 1980's, Chlo¨¦ would then go through many different designers.  However, in 1987, Martine Sibon came aboard the label, adding her own flair to the designs while keeping the much-loved femininity of Chlo¨¦.  After much success with the label, Sibon left in 1991 and Karl Lagerfeld returned without as much success.  In 1997, The Beatles¡¯ singer Paul McCartney¡¯s daughter Stella was introduced as the new designer at Chlo¨¦.  Her feminine and vintage style of clothing would soon prove to be a major hit and Chlo¨¦ would experience and wide increase in sales due to McCartney¡¯s hip designs.  However, in 2001, Stella decided to leave and was replaced by somewhat unknown - Phoebe Philo.  Philo, then 27, was a good friend of Stella¡¯s and she soon injected her own streetwise yet feminine flair into the label.  Her talents would soon prove to be a hit and Chlo¨¦ has continued to succeed since then.
