Long hair is so hot in the summer time that it¡¯s a must to know a few bun hairstyles to stay cool. One style is to gather the hair up at the very top of the head and wrap it around to form a bun. Really long hair is easiest to get up by bending at the waist and hanging the head downwards, then gathering the hair first in a ponytail. Stand upright, brush the hair out and wrap it into a bun shape, securing with bobby pins. Wrap a pretty scarf around it for a very casual look, or leave wisps of hair hanging down in front of the ears and a few at the neckline for a dressier appearance. It¡¯s not absolutely necessary to put the hair into a ponytail before making the bun, but for many women, it¡¯s a little easier to keep it together while forming the bun if it¡¯s pulled into a ponytail first.
A double bun is a little harder, but very pretty and unique. Separate the hair for two buns by using a comb to gather the hair from above and in front of each ear, upwards to the top of the head. Put this hair in a clip then gather the rest of the hair into a separate clip. Bend over at the waist and hang head downward to gather the top hair group into a pony tail. Stand upright, comb the hair and twist it into a bun, high up on the back of the head. Pin into place. Now take the second group of hair and gather it into a ponytail, twisting it into a bun just below the first one. Wrap a scarf in a ¡°figure eight¡± style to make it look even classier. This style can be done in 1, 2, or even 3 bun styles. Just separate the hair into groups and begin with the first bun, working your way down to the last one. Or gather the first group of hair into a bun, then leave the remaining hair hanging down.
For a formal evening, gather the hair into a ponytail at the nape of the neck. Wrap into a bun, then pin into place. Wrap beaded pearl strands around the bun for elegance. Or insert decorative hair sticks into the bun, leaving them sticking out a little.
Rather than placing the bun all the way at the nape of the neck, gather the hair in a ponytail in the middle of the back of the head. Wrap it into a bun and pin. You can use a giant barrette to clip across the center of the bun for a different and unique look to the bun. Or, wrap a scarf around the bun, place hair jewels in the bun or put it in a sparkle hair net.
Any of these hairstyles can be done by first placing the hair in a ponytail, then braiding, and finally, wrapping into a bun. Unique hair ornaments, sticks, wraps and scarves add to the buns by giving them glitz, glamour and sparkle.
