How do you know he¡¯s ready for marriage?  The following are signs to look for from your guy that will keep you from having to play the guessing game and reveal his readiness for a commitment.

He suddenly mentions it is about time you meet his parents and other close family members.  For most guys, family is a taboo subject and they won¡¯t even mention their family to you in fear of you thinking the relationship is headed in the commitment direction.  So, if he is eager to introduce you to his circle of loved ones, be assured that he is taking an important step to show you he is serious about and open to marriage.

He asks you how you feel about having children.  This is a subject that is very important to discuss before marriage and for him to bring it up is a good sign he is seriously thinking of you as his future wife.  He may also be bringing it up to make sure you both are on the same wave length concerning children before he asks for your hand in marriage.    

Turning down evenings with his guy friends to spend them with you instead is becoming a habit.  This shows how being a couple is a priority to him and that his days as a bachelor are now going to take a back seat to the life he wants to share with you.  When you go out together, you may even meet other couples who are planning a marriage or are already married.  If you notice how your man enjoys being around them, this signals how comfortable he is around marriage and how close he could be himself in taking that step.  This is good news for you and your relationship with him and should make you feel positive about where you stand in his life.

If you become sick, he wants to be the one to nurse you back to health.  When he volunteers to take care of you when you are sick, he is actually trying to show you how he can be a good caretaker for you, not only in sickness but in life.  His priorities have changed and he's now concerned about your well-being as well as his own.

He asks you to go house shopping with him.  If he is suddenly anxious to buy a house, with you and not on his own, this is absolutely a major step for him to take toward marriage.  Since a house is a big responsibility to take on, be assured he is not just wanting to kill some time going house shopping.  Most men won¡¯t bring up buying a house if they are not in your relationship for the long haul.

He wants to talk to your father alone.  If your guy is requesting to have a conversation with your father and does not want you involved, he probably wants to discuss his intentions with your father and get his blessing for marriage.  Believe it or not, some men still follow tradition and feel they need to ask permission from your father to marry you.

He suggests going to a jewelry store to browse around.  Wanting to know your taste and size in rings is a great way for him to gather the information he needs to surprise you with an engagement ring in the near future.  Then he will slip the ring on your finger and propose,   while declaring his love.  This, of course, is the most obvious sign he is ready for marriage.
