Whether you're shopping for a good raincoat to fit your tall frame, or you're looking for a coat for the large man in your life, finding the right product will take some extra time and effort. Men's coats that can be normally found on a store rack come in sizes that range from small to double extra large. A double extra large coat normally fits a man that wears somewhere around a size forty-two to forty four. 

If you, or the man you're shopping for, needs a raincoat that's bigger than that, then you'll need to visit a big and tall men's store. Bigger cities usually have at least one of these specialty stores, but if you live in a smaller town, you may not have a local big and tall men's store. You can do a search on the Internet to find a store near you. You can also check the Internet for online stores that can meet your shopping needs in this line of outerwear. 

Of course, before you start your search for a good men's raincoat, you should have exact measurements. That is, you'll need to know how tall you are, or the man is. You'll also need to know what the measurements of his or your shoulders and chest are. Big and tall men's clothing come in many different sizes, from triple large all the way up to six extra large, and even a six extra large, tall. Just like other coats, sizes vary by manufacturers. One manufacturer's extra large might be a plain large size in another brand of coat. So, you don't want to try and go on what numerical or letter size you or the man normally wears.

Now, in looking for a good raincoat, the best types are constructed of a waterproof microfiber and cotton material. Not only are these coats stylish, but they are also lightweight and comfortable to wear. The microfiber material is cool and breathable. Therefore, a person won't normally sweat while wearing this type of material. That's one problem with a raincoat that's made of rubber. It holds in your body heat, and that factor can keep you warm and toasty. But, it tends to hold in your body heat too well. The results? You usually end up sweating and feeling cold and clammy in the process.         

The microfiber raincoats are also a great improvement over the old, heavy gabardine raincoats that used to be the style for men who liked to dress smartly. 

Finally, when you have located a big and tall men's store, or, another suitable supplier, take your time to find the right raincoat to fit your or your man's specific needs. Black, brown, dark gray, and navy blue are usually colors that are suitable for business attire.  

Look for a raincoat that has at least a one year warranty, if not longer, on the workmanship and the materials. Name brand manufacturers usually make the better quality products, so you should stay away from lesser known brands.
