Albuquerque is a city located in the state of New Mexico.  You can get married inside or outside.  The weather there is very sunny.  In fact, Albuquerque averages about two hundred eighty three sunny days per year!  If you¡¯re looking to have an outdoor wedding, Albuquerque can be a safe bet to those who do not wish to worry about rain on their wedding day.  There are a bunch of places in Albuquerque where a wedding can occur.  

The first on our list is perhaps the best choice.  It is the Rio Grande Botanic Garden.  The Garden is located across the plaza from the Albuquerque Aquarium and is bordered on the west by the famous Rio Grande and the biggest cottonwood gallery forest in the world.  The Rio Grande Botanical Garden is lush and peaceful.  It is a desert oasis.  The Garden is composed of twenty developed acres and includes a ten thousand square foot glass conservatory that holds native and exotic plants that come from climate zones of the desert and Mediterranean.  The Rio Grande Garden also contains a seasonal butterfly conservatory with hundreds of free-flying North American butterflies.  This Garden is part of the Albuquerque Biological Park.  The Garden is open every day of the week from nine to five.  From June to August, they are open on Saturdays from nine to six as well.  They are located at 2601 Central Avenue NW.  The Garden can be reached via phone at (505) 764-6200 or by TTY at (505) 764-6297.  They specifically state that you can rent out the facility for wedding ceremonies and receptions.  

You may like to have your wedding and reception in the Ceremonial Rose Garden.  It is an elegant walled garden with raised rose beds and tall arbors that support climbing trees and clematis.  The Ceremonial Rose Garden is ideal for small weddings and has an arched vine-covered colonnade and raised stage.  Rose bushes abound during spring, summer and fall.  The rental fee is $1,100 for a maximum of three hours.  The capacity is one hundred twenty five seated guests, and they offer daytime and evening weddings.  Rehearsal dinners and receptions are available only during the evening hours.  The Ceremonial Rose Garden is open from May to September.  

The next wedding location in Albuquerque we will discuss is the Festival Green.  The features include a curved brick walkway that borders this location, with an elegant row of shade trees and annual plants and flowers in an assortment of colors.  Towards the south end of the Festival Green is a freshwater pond.  The guest capacity seats two hundred fifty.  Like the Ceremonial Rose Garden, the Festival Green is also $1,100 for a maximum of three hours, and they are available from May to September.  They allow only evening weddings, rehearsal dinners and receptions.  

Another Albuquerque wedding locale is Tingley Beach.  Tingley Beach encompasses a fishing lake, a separate model boating lake, picnic areas, water features, and paths and trails.  The beach is currently being renovated until 2006.  But after that point it will become available.  Tingley Beach is also now known as Aquatic Park.  For more information, you may contact via email at ahouse@cabq.gov or via phone at (505) 764-6200.  

What about Old Town, Albuquerque¡¯s first neighborhood?  Old Town is located around Rio Grande Boulevard and Central Avenue.  The contact address is 303 Romero NW, and the contact phone number is (505) 243-4134.  Old Town is Albuquerque¡¯s well preserved Spanish plaza that is surrounded by restaurants and tourist shops selling rugs, crafts and Native American jewelry.  Old Town is an important part of Albuquerque¡¯s heritage; the first families settled near the Rio Grande banks in 1706.  Some of the old homes are still standing.  You may wish to contact the Old Town office to inquire about a wedding there or a reception in one of the restaurants.  

Albuquerque also hosts the Sandia Peak Tramway.  It is located on Tram Way Road NE and can be reached at (505) 856-7325.  The Sandia Peak Tram crosses the Domingo Baca Canyon on the world¡¯s longest unsupported span and consists of an almost three mile journey to the 10,378 foot tall Sandia Peak.  The hiking trails at Sandia Peak show expansive views of Albuquerque and the Rio Grande Valley.  Visitors can see wildlife in the Sandia Mountains from the tram including: coyotes, bobcats, black bears, hawks, raccoons and eagles.

Now let¡¯s talk about Jemez High Road.  It is north of Albuquerque at the Bernalillo exit off of Route 25 onto Route 550 West.  The phone number is 877-733-5687.  Jemez High Road is a scenic route to Santa Fe through the Jemez Mountains.  It is filled with history, culture and scenery.  

Our last stop is the San Felipe de Neri Church.  It is located at 2005 North Plaza, and their phone number is (505) 243-4628.  The San Felipe de Neri Church was built in 1706 and rebuilt in 1793; the historic church has been providing services ever since.  The adobe church is a traditional colonial style with Spanish overtones and mixtures of eighteenth and nineteenth century designs.  The inside of the church has wood paneled wainscoting, a stamped metal ceiling, an extravagant altar and plaster walls painted to look like marble.
