Your wedding day is quickly approaching as you only have a few months left before the big day. Invitations have been ordered, the venue has been booked and you have taste-tested so many different types of wedding cakes you are worried you won¡¯t fit into your dress or tuxedo. The four-month mark is a pivotal month in your wedding plans, as there is much to do. Here is a checklist of items you will want to take care of during this month.
* How will you and your fianc¨¦ be leaving the reception once the wedding is over? If you do not plan on leaving in your own car, you will want to book your post-wedding transportation, like a limousine or a luxury car. If you anticipate some of your friends hijacking your car to give it a bit of a ¡°getaway car¡± makeover (attaching cans to the back, writing on the windows), be sure to speak with the company about any extra fees that might be charged because of this or if it is even allowed.
* Most reception sites will provide all of the tables and chairs for your wedding; however, if you want any extras like special linens or fancy chair covers with bows, find a rental company that offers these types of extras and book them for your wedding date.
* A current trend is for the couple to offer favors to their gifts at the wedding. These favors do not have to be anything fancy and can be anything ranging from a bookmark with the wedding date etched on it to a small, framed photo of the couple in their wedding attire. Whether you plan on ordering these favors or making your own, now is the time to start working on them.
* The invitations you ordered a few months ago should be in your hands already, so now is the time to start addressing them, although you will not be sending them out yet.
* What you will be sending out at this time, however, are save the date notes to all of the people on your guest list. These announcements simply serve as a reminder to your guests not to forget your upcoming nuptials.
* If you will be having a lot of out-of-town guests, you may want to find some hotels that are located close to the reception site or close to the airport (if many guests will be flying in) and order a block of rooms at a discounted rate.
* Your wedding party has taken a lot of their own money and their time to stand with you as friends in your wedding. A wonderful way to acknowledge them is to get them a small gift (to be given at the rehearsal dinner) as a token of your appreciation. Start shopping for their gifts now. It may be wise to give all the bridesmaids the same gift and all of the groomsmen the same gift. You can also hand out gifts to both sets of parents who, no doubt, have helped through the entire process.
* Most grooms and groomsmen simply rent their tuxedos, as opposed to buying them. Start visiting tuxedo rental stores and choosing the style of tuxedo you will want. Have your groomsmen go in to get their measurements taken, or if they live out of town, have them call in their measurements.
* Start visiting the jewelry stores with your fianc¨¦ to select your wedding rings. |
