Chicago is a beautiful city with plenty of great wedding location possibilities. Whether you want a simple garden-party theme or a lavish black tie affair, Chicago has a lot to offer in terms of interesting and memorable venues.
Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier is a beautiful one-acre indoor tropical garden. With palm trees, fountains, and sparkling Italian lights, the greenhouse-like room feels like an outdoor venue, but you won¡¯t have to worry about the weather. Crystal Gardens holds up to 700 people for a plated dinner and up to 1500 for a cocktail party. Brides planning smaller weddings can rent just two-thirds or one-quarter of the space.
The Chicago Botanic Garden offers several options for the bride-to-be. For up to 350 people, McGinley Pavilion offers a breathtaking outdoor venue, while the Great Hall¡¯s indoor environment is a year-round option. A variety of other indoor and outdoor sites are available for smaller weddings, for anywhere from 60 to 225 guests. The outdoor sites are only available during warmer months, and tents are always available in case of rain.
Part of the Chicago Park District, the South Shore Cultural Center is located right on Lake Michigan and offers breathtaking views of the lake. The wedding package includes two hours in the Solarium for a ceremony overlooking the lake and four hours in the Dining Room for a reception under grand chandeliers and arched windows in this classical ballroom.
Located on the north side of Chicago, Lincoln Park Conservatory Gardens is another beautiful venue available through the Chicago Park District. Lincoln Park is known for its beauty, and the Conservatory Gardens do not disappoint. Ceremonies can be held in the Grandmothers Garden, with the reception being held on the front lawn or in the Conservatory¡¯s indoor space.
Downtown, the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center offers exceptional style inside one of Chicago¡¯s tallest skyscrapers. In a city full of spectacular views, the Signature Room is the best of the best: just not for anyone with a fear of heights.
The Art Institute of Chicago is one of Chicago¡¯s premier cultural institutions, and you can bring its world-famous reputation to your wedding. It has three venues suited for wedding receptions. Millennium Park Room holds up to 225 guests for a seated dinner or 300 guests for a cocktail reception. The Chicago Stock Exchange Trading Room is an elaborately decorated room that seats up to 350 people for dinner or 600 for a cocktail reception. McKinlock Court is an outdoor patio available in the warmer months for cocktail receptions with 200-500 guests. The Art Institute of Chicago does not allow religious ceremonies in its facilities, but civil ceremonies are allowed.
Chicago is home to a number of luxury hotels that are happy to host your wedding ceremony and reception. The Four Seasons, The Palmer House Hilton, The Drake, The Ritz-Carlton, and the InterContinental are just a few of the most historic and beautiful hotels in the city. They all have ballrooms and wedding planners that are perfectly suited to hosting a lovely and memorable wedding.
