Cutting costs for your wedding may not be the main priority, but it never hurts to save a buck or two.  You do not have to sacrifice anything to save money.  Wedding favors are a great cost-cutting area.  You can still have it look professional and beautiful.  For any favor you make be sure to include the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date for a personalized appearance.  Also follow the wedding colors or theme.  Favors can be as simple as a candle or more complex like decorated glasses.  Here are five ideas for wedding favors that will save money and look great.

Favor idea #1

Use white ribbons to jazz up almost anything.  Tie them around glasses, candles or even silverware.  Just make sure that whatever they are tied around is supposed to go home with the guests.  Also tie in the wedding colors by writing the names and date on the ribbon with colored pen. You can also use ribbons in the wedding colors in the same manner.

Favor idea #2

Try miniatures as a fun favor.  Use mini champaign flutes filled with potpourri, covered with netting and names and date written on glass.  Use mini satin pillows to duplicate the ring pillow with the names and date nicely embrodered on them. There are many miniature items that can be found and personalized for wedding favors.

Favor idea #3

Use simple crafts.  Origami can be easy to do and easily found online.  You can buy the paper in colors that coordinate with the wedding theme.  There are flowers, birds or even simple boxes that can be made.  Crafts are probably best for smaller weddings since time may be a concern.

Make practical favors.  Use small vine wreaths decorated with flowers as napkin rings.  Give votive wrapped in netting with names and date written on them.  For the exit of the couple tie birdseed or rice in netting and tie with a ribbon to match wedding colors.  Write names and date on bottle of bubbles.

Try a small gift bag.  The bag can be in the wedding colors with the names and date written on the outside.  Put items inside that the guests can use at the wedding, like a disposable camera, bubbles, rice or birdseed.  Also include things people normally keep from a wedding, like personalize napkins.  The gift bag can get expensive, so buy in bulk and avoid putting to much inside.
