Remember that old expression: ※you can dress ＆em up, but you can＊t take em＊ out?§  Well, lots of women have the opposite feeling about their boyfriends: they can＊t dress them up, but they love taking them out.  How can you have your cake and eat it with your well-dressed boyfriend, too?  Check out some of these tips for making over your man:

FROM PUNK TO HUNK

We ladies love a challenge, and trying to make over your punk rock boyfriend is major challenge. Remember, this isn＊t about transforming the guy into a new person 每 it is about improving the guy so that he shines his brightest.  Just class up the punk look a little bit 每 a little less dirt, a little more style.  They will be happy to try out a new alternative hairstyle.  Look through a magazine for some cutting-edge cuts, and pick out about ten that you like.  Show them to your boyfriend, and let him pick the one he likes the best 每 it will give him a feeling of control over the situation.  Once you get the hair cut, he will be feeling more open to change, so immediately hit the mall.  Try some t-shirts with prints under a casual suit jacket.  Finish off the look with a pair of faded boot-cut jeans, and let him pick out a pair of sneakers to go along with the outfit.  Top it off with some accessories and jewelry, such as a chain wallet, a spike collar, or a leather bracelet.

FROM GEEK TO CHIC

Nerds make great boyfriends.  They are smart and caring, not typical dumb egotistical and sex-crazed misogynists.  However, they are usually lacking fashion sense.  Lucky for you, geek guys are almost always open to change, and they will be a blank canvas for you to make-over.  First of all, fix up the facial hair (if he＊s got some).  Give him a trendy goatee, and make sure that he isn＊t sporting a unibrow.  If your geek is skinny, get him in some fitted t-shirts and button-downs.  Thin guys don＊t look good with a lot of extra fabric.  If he wears glasses, try some contacts out, or pick out a stylish pair of frames, such as a small round tortoise shell style.  Get some relaxed and casual jeans and some great belts with silver buckles.  And the piece de r谷sistance: the hair.  Try for some blonde highlights, and a spiky short do.  Make sure to ask his hair stylist to teach him how to recreate the look at home, and buy any of the necessary styling products.

MEET THE PARENTS, BAD BOY

Women are always nervous about introducing their new boyfriend to their parents, especially if he is a ※bad boy.§  If your guy cares about you, he won＊t mind submitting to a pre-parent makeover.  You know what mom and dad want to see 每 a nicely dressed young man 每 shirt and tie, some khaki pants, neatly cut and combed hair, little to no facial hair.  If he has tattoos, cover them up.  Try a Regis Philbin look 每 cobalt blue tie with matching shirt, and a pair of cotton khakis.  A suit jacket would be a nice touch 每 but don＊t push for miracles.  Give him some flowers to present to your mother 每 she will be doubly impressed.

Always keep in mind that what is on the inside is far more important than what is on the outside.  Don＊t force your man to change, just make loving and sweet little suggestions.  If he isn＊t into it, or he feels offended, then back off.  When your man tries on his new duds for the makeover, make sure you compliment him, and keep the compliments coming.  He might be uneasy about the changes, so your reassurance will help to put him at ease and restore his confidence.  And get ready for him to turn the tables on you＃ you might be trying on nurse＊s costume next week!
