Before a baby is born, there is so much to get organized and prepared for. The expecting couple usually goes through their budget to determine how much more they will need to devote to the baby that is coming. In addition, they will go through their home to see what needs to be bought so that baby will be comfortable when she arrives. If this is a first child, then everything that needs to be purchased for baby can be summed up in one word: everything. From strollers to car seats to clothes and diapers, the couple will need to shell out some money to get everything prepared for the day that baby comes home. This is the reason why friends or family members of the expecting couple will throw a baby shower for them. A baby shower is both a celebration for the baby¡¯s impending arrival as well as a way to ¡°shower¡± the couple with baby items they will need that they do not already have. Here are some invitation wording samples to inspire you when writing out your friend or family member¡¯s baby shower invitation.

For a baby shower, it is customary to have the shower about four to six weeks before the due date of the baby. First speak with the couple concerning which weekend would work best for them. After all, the few weeks leading up to a due date can be quite hectic as the couple finalizes their preparations for the baby¡¯s arrival. Finally, be sure to send the invitations out approximately two to three weeks before the shower.
