DON＊T GET AHEAD OF YOURSELF

Sometimes when you first get into a relationship with someone, you feel high on romance and love and happiness.  You are infatuated with your new love interest, and you feel like the two of you have been destined to meet each other or be with each other all your life.  Sometimes these intense feelings can make a man lose his mind a little bit and decide to propose marriage way too soon.  It＊s great that you are in love, but getting married too soon is a big mistake for your relationship.  One of the true tests of your strength as a couple is standing the test of time 每 after the intense feelings that accompany a new relationship subside.  This woman may very well be your future spouse, but for now, you have to focus on getting to know each other and getting used to the dynamics that you have together.  You don＊t want to risk scaring the woman of your dreams off by pushing her to make a major life altering commitment to you.  If you are confident that this love is forever, then what is the harm in waiting to get engaged?  Trust me; you don＊t want to throw wedding planning into the mix when you haven＊t even met each other＊s family and friends yet.  There are reasons why so many marriages end in divorce, and getting married too soon is most definitely one of them.  

DON＊T TRY TO MEND A BROKEN HEART WITH AN ENGAGEMENT RING

You should not use a marriage proposal as your ticket out of the doghouse.  You might feel like you have made a mistake so disastrous that it can only be remedied by making a bold move to show your lady how much you love her and don＊t want to lose her.  The jewelry store isn＊t a bad idea, but stick to bracelets, necklaces, and earrings＃ not engagement rings.  Your girlfriend is not going to want to remember that you proposed marriage because you wanted to show her that you wouldn＊t cheat on her again.  Do you really want that to be the memory that you have of getting engaged?  Would you really want to tell that story to your children and grandchildren?  Pull yourself together, and give yourself a reality check before you make a big mistake to predicate the future of your relationship on.  You have to heal your relationship before you even contemplate getting engaged or married.  Your relationship should be strong and healthy when you propose, not fractured.  The two of you have to have complete trust in each other and in your future.  Remember, building a house on sand is a recipe for disaster.  

KEEP HER DREAMS IN MIND

Most women have had daydreams since they were little girls about the day the man of their dreams proposes to them.  Your girlfriend probably has a vision in her mind of the perfect proposal, and it should be your goal to make your proposal even better than her dreams.  Try to be as romantic as possible, and also aim to incorporate aspects of your relationship together into your proposal.  If the two of you met in high school, you might decide to pop the question at your old high school after a romantic evening.  If you met a local coffee shop, you could ask her there.  The setting is important.  Maybe the two of you love the beach 每 you could propose there.  You should also think about what you want to say to her when you ask the question.  You could talk about the day you met 每 how you felt.  You could talk about your first date, and the many wonderful memories that you have shared.  Tell her why you love her, and tell her what see you for the two of you in your future.  Don＊t be afraid to get a little emotional 每 she sure will.  Getting down on one knee is a must in my opinion.  It is the quintessential climax to a romantic proposal, only paralleled by the moment that you reach into your pocket, pull out a little ring box, open it, and see a look of pure elation on the face of your beloved.
