Holistic healing is not for everyone. In fact, practicing holistic health requires self-discipline. Some physicians that are open to natural healing use holistic supplementation along with necessary medical treatments.
It is important to remember that holistic healing is not a quick fix and requires time. Holistic health is used to address the core of the problem rather than provide temporary relief.
What is Holistic Health?
Holistic health is basically the use of natural herbs and foods as a proactive way to maintain natural health. One that uses natural remedies as an alternative medicine, believes that the use of manufactured or synthetic drugs not only damages the bad cells, but the good cells as well, which can open the door for cancer, Alzheimer¡¯s, and other degenerative diseases. Holistic Health also pertains to mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
Can using herbs cure existing health problems?
Holistic medicine is not only used to maintain a person¡¯s health naturally; it is also used as an alternative way in correcting existing health problems. Some examples are as follows:
Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins (OPCs) is a group of plant-derived bioflavonoids mostly consisting of grape seed, pine bark and red wine extracts, and combined, makes a powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants may help strengthen capillaries, arteries, and veins for support of the circulatory system. Antioxidants may help alleviate problems associated with asthma by blocking histamines. Some evidence suggests that OPCs improve the appearance of skin, by strengthening collagen and elasticity to help slow the aging process.
Aloe Vera has been used for quite some time on skin, but did you know that Aloe Vera juice, when ingested, could be used to treat ailments associated with the digestive process? Vitamins, minerals, triglycerides, carbohydrates, amino acids, and enzymes are contained within Aloe Vera, and they play an important role in maintaining proper digestive health.
Herbal supplements can benefit menopausal women. Black Cohosh and Dong Quai are used to help with fatigue, hot flashes and irritability, while St. John¡¯s Wort is widely used as an anti-depressant.
Weight-conscious individuals may use an herbal supplement called Garcinia Cambogia, which contains hydroxycitric acid (an acid found in grapefruits and oranges). Hydroxycitric acid, also known as HCA, reduces the storage of body fats and suppresses appetite by stimulating production of a brain chemical known as serotonin.
Gallstones are formed when the bile, which is stored in the gallbladder, hardens. To avoid the risks associated with surgery, you may flush the stones out naturally by using a combination of Gold Coin Grass (to soften the stones) and lemon juice and cold pressed olive oil. To prevent gallstones from forming, take a daily supplement of Vitamin C to lower the bile cholesterol levels. Take Milk Thistle to help dissolve existing stones and to keep stones from being formed.
Many young and old individuals practice natural health, as well as physicians. If you are considering following an alternative path to a healthy future and reaching a higher level of wellness, you may want to consider learning more about Holistic Health.
