Before planning the date, you must take into account three important details: the type of person he/she is, what you would both enjoy, and the logistics of the date (weather and time).
Check out the categories below to find ideas that are sure to make him/her want a second date.
Date Type #1: For The Adventurer
The adventurer typically delights in active and lively activities. Risk-taking is their middle name and excitement is their game. Whatever you plan for the two of you must be interesting and unique.
You both are interested in trying and seeing new things. Planning a trip to an amusement or theme park would certainly be a super way to get to know each other. This type of a date can be day or night, so long as it is not primarily a water park. Rides, games, food, and excitement all in one date is exactly what you look for in an adventure date. It is a great way to have fun or sit down and talk ¨C it is left completely up to the two of you. Other ideas for this type of date may include mountain climbing, horseback rides, or scuba diving lessons.
Date Type #2: For The Life Long Student
The student takes delight in stimulating his/her mind. He/She has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and is never satisfied until it is quenched. This date must enlighten and push his/her intellectual limits.
Visit (or research via the web) local universities in search of lectures, or even a lecture series, that is being offered. There may be other events of interest to those who enjoy an academic challenge. Other first dates of interest may be a book reading at a local bookstore, a debate, a museum, or a planetarium.
Date Type #3: For The Romantic
Some people just love romantic gestures, especially women. Showing up with flowers and a box of chocolates melts not only in her mouth, but in her heart. Some guys are flattered by it as well.
Romantics typically enjoy grand gestures, such as a picnic set up for them on the beach (or other great spot in nature) as the sun is setting. He/she would appreciate the thoughtfulness and preparation that you put into it. He/she might also take pleasure in touring a winery, with the beautiful fields and scenery. Be sure to bring flowers. Such a date is enjoyable for both of you, and it is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Date Type #4: For The Sports Enthusiast
Knowing all the benefits of exercise, your interest might be up for some physical activity. In-line skating is a great way to enjoy an afternoon (pending good weather). If you are a first-timer, you may enjoy the benefits of getting to hold on to your date as you learn. If that is a bit too physical for you, maybe a canoe ride, mountain climbing, or a sporting event. All dates offer moments for conversation as well as fun.
Date Type #5: For The Traditionalist
Some people are fond of traditional events, such as a movie and dinner. For safety¡¯s sake, if you choose this route, be sure to go to the movie first so you have something to discuss over dinner (if you need to). Nothing is worse than being stuck with someone for an hour with nothing at all to discuss.
More creative dates for a traditional person would be taking a cooking class, going to a play, or a round of mini-golf. All options give you something to talk about as well as keeping you interacting with each other.
Regardless of your choice, be sure to relax and have fun. Even if the date was flawlessly planned and even if it went smoothly, nothing botches a first date as badly as someone who is not being themselves. Just kick back and let fate take its course.
