Installing a dishwasher is as easy as 1, 2, 3, just follow the simple steps and there you go. You will save yourself time and have the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself and you can show anyone how to do it. Now let¡¯s install a dishwasher. Always remember to shut off the water and electricity. Proper tools that are needed include a drill, a wrench and a lot of patience.
Whether you are a first time installer or someone who is teaching a person how to install a dishwasher, always remember anyone can install a dishwasher. It is easy, it builds confidence and it can either be done by a man or woman , so lets go.
1. The best thing to do is always make sure the area around you is cleared of any clutter and debris. Always make sure you have your handy wrench and drill nearby because if you have your tools in front of you then you are not running around looking for them and that saves time. One thing you always want to remember to shut off the electricity and shut off the water. If you have an old dishwasher and you are replacing dishwasher, unplug and drain the dishwasher. The water valve is usually located under the sink or you can turn the water off at the main which ever you feel most comfortable with.
If you don¡¯t have a dedicated shut off valve you will need to install shutoff valve. The way that you do this to drain off all water in a bucket, unscrew the valve with a wrench. You will then take a dual-outlet valve and put wind pipe wrap all around the nipple threads and then you are ready to install your dishwasher.
2. If you did not previously have a dishwasher then you will need to drill a hole in the back of the wall for hose to come through. If a previous dishwasher was there before you are all set and ready to go.
3 At this point you will want to slide the dishwasher near its opening and place all the hoses carefully in back toward the hole which you just drilled the (supply tube, power cord). Always make sure your cords are not tangled, make sure not to pinch these connectors always keep them free.
4. You will then want to connect the sink supply to the dual outlet valve; you will use your wrench to make sure it is tight. If you have a garbage disposal you will need to attach a hose clamp on the short end and clamp it real tight, you then need to do it to the longer hose, clamping it very tightly also.
Now that you have everything done, everything is pushed back in its place you can turn the water back on and turn the electricity back on and wash the dishes. Congratulations you have just installed your first dishwasher.
