When it comes to home decorating, thinking outside the box is a must.  If you want your homes to have a unique flair, then you should integrate unique materials into your design scheme. Bottle caps are a great home decorating accent, and they can be used in several ways.

BOTTLE CAP FRAMES

Go to a dollar store in your area and pick up a bunch of simple picture frames.  If you have some old picture frames that you would like to give some new life to, you can use them as well.  You will also need some glue and enough bottle caps to cover the picture frame.  You can buy bottle caps at a craft store, but it is much easier (and cheaper) to just use bottle caps from beverages that you and your family drink.  You may not have paid much attention to this before, but many bottle caps have pretty logos and designs on them, while others are just a solid color 每 usually silver or gold.  If you only have the time for a quick craft, just use the bottle caps with logos or colors that you like 每 glue them on top of your picture frame, and you＊re all set.  If you are really feeling crafty, you can get a little more in depth.  Glue the bottle caps on top of your frame so that the tops of the bottle caps are against the surface of the frame (logo-side down).  On the bottom side of bottle caps (this side should be facing up), there is a small circular ring.  Use your computer＊s scanner or digital photography software to shrink pictures down to a size small enough to fit inside the circular rings on the bottle caps.  If you do not have access to a computer and printer, you could cut out illustrations in books or pictures in magazines that will fit inside the circles.  Glue your tiny round pictures inside the ring on the bottle caps.  Now you have a picture frame that is made up of miniature picture frames.    

BOTTLE CAP TILING

Bottle caps can be used for large scale projects too.  If you are prepared to spend a weekend on a flooring project, then you should consider using bottle caps instead of tiles.  The end result is really great 每 and nobody else will have the same floor as you!  You are probably not going to have enough bottle caps just lying around the house to cover your floor, so pick up the large quantity that you will need at a craft store (measure your floor before you buy the bottle caps).  First, strip your floors down to the base, and sand them smooth.  It is critical that you do not skimp on the sanding, or else you will wind up with an uneven, bumpy floor.  Next, lay down the grout by the square foot.  Push your bottle caps into the grout in straight lines (top-side of the cap facing upwards).  The reason that you should do this by the square foot is so that you do not have to worry about the grout starting to harden before you can get the caps perfectly lined up.  Once the grout has completely dried (overnight at least), you can walk on your new floor.    

BOTTLE CAP MOSAIC WALL HANGING

Use your old bottle caps to create a unique wall hanging for your home.  Start with a piece of wood 每 cut to the size and shape of your preference.  Cover the wood with a coat of paint, a piece of fabric, or aluminum foil.  Next, glue bottle caps all over the front of the wood piece, leaving no spaces uncovered.  Create a mosaic look on your wall hanging by covering bottle caps with different paint colors or circles of fabric or foil.  You could also use glitter or beads to make an even more elaborate decoration.
