Christmas is the perfect holiday for kids to express their creativity through jewelry. With lots of fun themes to pick from, everyone will find something to suits their tastes.
Snowball Craze Necklace
- Mini marshmallows
- Modge Podge
- Small paintbrush
- Seven red pony beads
- Seven green pony beads
- Yarn needle
- Thirty-six inch length Bracelet/necklace cord
- Toothpick
Apply Modge Podge to 15 mini marshmallows with paintbrush. Make sure to cover with Modge Podge completely. Let dry until tacky. With toothpick, pierce each marshmallow ¡®snowball¡¯ all the way through before completely dry. Let finish drying. Take cord and cut into one thirty inch and one six-inch piece. Set six-inch piece aside for bracelet. Tie a knot in one end. With yarn needle, string a red bead, a green bead and two marshmallows, repeating three times. End by stringing on one more bead of each color. Tie a knot on second end.
To make necklace so that you can slide it on and adjust length without having to tie it each time you wear it: Take one end in your right hand and tie it over the other end, before the knot. Cord will slide within the knot. Repeat with left hand end, tie over the other end, before its knot. If done correctly, you will be able to slide each end to increase the length of the necklace, making it easier to slide over the head. Once on, slide ends in opposite directions to snug the length to a comfortable fit.
Using cord set aside for bracelet, string the remaining pony beads interspersed with remaining marshmallow ¡®snowballs¡¯. Finish ends the same way as necklace.
