How would you like a furry spider sitting atop your guest¡¯s party napkins? This adorably friendly spider is sure to win the hearts of all your Halloween party guests. 

For each spider napkin ring you will require a large black pom-pom, 5 black pipe cleaners, craft glue, scissors, a small foam ball for the spider¡¯s head, acrylic craft paint in colors of your choice, and a small paint brush. 

Begin by painting the foam craft ball a color of your choice. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly, and give the spider a face using contrasting acrylic craft paint and a small paintbrush. You can make a silly face, a happy face, or a scary face. Set it aside to dry completely. 

While the head of the spider is drying, make the legs by twisting together 4 black pipe cleaners. Set them on a flat surface so they are all even. Twist them together in the center, and separate the legs. Bend the legs so they resemble the legs of a real spider. Trim them if necessary. Use the remaining pipe cleaner for the napkin ring. Twist it around the center of the other pipe cleaners where the legs are joined together. Make the ring appropriately sized to accommodate a rolled up napkin. 

Glue the painted head to the large black pom-pom. Set it aside to dry. After it dries, glue the set of legs to the body. Allow the finished napkin ring to dry completely before handling it. 

Make a spooky trick-or-treating ghost for each place setting at your Halloween party. Each ghost will exhibit the name of a guest. These can be used as necklaces, placeholders, or unique Halloween decorations. As a fun party pastime, consider having guests participate in this project. Provide all the necessary supplies so each guest can make their very own personalized placeholder, necklace, or decoration.

To make one ghost you will need a sheet of white craft foam, 2 plastic eyes, a 2 inch by 1 inch piece of orange craft foam, scraps of craft foam, a fine-tip black marker, craft glue, and scissors. You will also need a pencil, a paper punch, a 16 inch nylon string, and a 1/8 inch wide black satin ribbon. 

Make the body of the ghost by using your bare foot as a stencil. After tracing around your foot, cut out the ghostly shape with craft scissors. The rounded area where you traced your heal represents the head of the ghost. Set it aside, and draw a random flowing shape for the arms using the remaining scraps of craft foam. Cut out and glue the arms to the back of the body, and set it aside to dry before continuing. 

Write the name of each guest on the 2 inch by 1-inch piece of craft foam. This will be the ghost¡¯s trick-or-treat bag. Alternately you can write ¡°Happy Halloween¡±, ¡°Boo¡±, or anything else you desire on the bag. Design a handle using a scrap piece of craft foam, and glue it to the back of the bag. Glue the finished bag to the hand of the ghost. Set it aside to dry. 

Complete the project by punching a hole in the top of the ghost¡¯s head using a paper punch. You will also need to glue on the eyes, and draw the facial expression using a fine-tip marker. Tie a small bow with the black satin ribbon, and glue it to the neck area of the ghost. Finally, attach the nylon string by threading it through the hole in the head.
