Nothing will hold your memories better than a well thought-out scrapbook. Scrapbooks not only protect your precious photographs, they display your pictorial history in a manner that is enjoyable to view. One of the most enjoyable aspects of creating a scrapbook is coming up with the creative themes to go along with the different events in your life. If you are in high school or college band or have a friend or child who is in a high school or college band, you know the many different activities that go along with that. Fundraisers, competitions, practices and trips are just a few of the different events to highlight in your scrapbook. Here are some different band theme ideas you can use in your own scrapbook.

For page borders, the options are limitless for music-inspired themes. Cut out five curvy lines that will fit from the top to the bottom of your page and punch out or cut out some musical notes to put on these lines to create a makeshift sheet music border. Or if you have any old sheet music laying around, cut out one strip of the music and crumble it up and straighten it out again. For dramatic effect, carefully burn the edges around the border to give the sheet music an aged look. If you want something a little bit simpler, you can always create a border using your high school or college colors. For example, if your high school¡¯s colors are red and gold, intertwine a long curvy red border strip with a gold one for a simple, yet elegant, border. 

You can also create your border using the instrument you play or a combination of many instruments. For example, cut out pictures of drums, saxophones, flutes, tubas and any other instruments you¡¯d like from colorful card stock. Use these to create borders around your page. Why not use a picture of the instrument you play as a centerpiece? Let¡¯s say you play the tuba. Cut out a large picture of a tuba. Put this picture in the center of the page and paste your favorite band picture in the place where the large horn hole actually is. If you play a smaller instrument, like a flute or clarinet, put the cut out of the flute or clarinet in the center of the page and have pictures you have cut out in the shapes of circles coming from the flute like bubbles of music. 

If you like to draw and want to creatively post pictures of all your band friends, draw cartoon-like band bodies, complete with band costumes and instruments on the scrapbook page or pages. Do not draw the heads of the band members. Instead, put ¡°head¡± photos of your friends on the cartoon bodies with the instrument they play. A great idea for a simple backdrop to your page is to buy some metallic, acid-free and ligin-free paper and use this as your background. For example, if you play the flute, use silver metallic paper to represent your flute. If you play the tuba, get gold metallic paper.
